how much do you shoot?

I am new to shooting. I go about every 10 days (sometimes once a week, sometimes every other week). I usually shoot about half a 100 ct. box but sometimes will go through a whole box.

However, my money is starting to get tight. There is no range near me that I like so I have the gas cost to travel, plus the cost of the ammo and range fees.

I shoot a S&W MP9c. I buy my ammo at Wallyworld for $15.72/100ct box.

Retirement has its priviliges. I am now able to visit my gun club twice a week. Usually shoot one of my long guns a bit trying different reloads at different distances. (40-60 rounds) But I always finish up with coffee and one of my true loves in 44 magnum at 50 & 100 yds be..be..before I le...le...leave for h..ho...home!

Not enough, The closest range is 40-45 miles one way and is the only place in the area. I have been talking to a local gunshop and they are considering opening a range which will only be about 5 miles so if that happens , probably 3-4 times a month.

I live in the greatest place in all the world to shoot. I can drive just 4.4 miles to a dry lake that's well over a mile long and at least half that in width. The bottom is dead flat. Shooting to the North, there is nothing to hit for 150 miles until we reach the Orgeon border. It's woods there, so no idea how much farther the bullets would have to go hit anything. It's truly a shooter's paradise. How often do I get out there? To answer the question, I ask: "How often does a Parisian visit The Louvre?

I was last out there on June 8, sighting-in my target boomer...

I try once a week but it's usually every other. Now that I own a couple 22s, I shoot more. I'll usually go for 2 hours, about 200-300 rounds of 22, and anywhere from 50-100 rounds each of 38, 357, 9mm para and 9mm mak respectively.

For handguns: 100-200 rounds of 9mm and around the same amount of .22lr.
For rifles: 100 or so rounds of either .223 or 7.62x39 and 50 or so .22lr.

I try to go shooting at least once a week but I also usually shoot one type of gun (i.e. handguns or rifles) during each trip. Occasionally I'll get into a blasting mood and go through 2 times the amount I listed also. I'm about to order some reloading equipment so that blasting mood can occur more often also.

I go whenever I can and usually shoot two boxes of ammo for my .243 and now with my new .40, at least 100 rounds through it. I usually shoot a mag or two through my buddies 9mm and then we shoot my Ruger MkI and our 22 rifles untill we get bored or have to leave.
