It was suggested in another thread that THR frequenters were probably more active shooters than "average" gun owners. I can't poll gun owners at large, but I can poll us. I'm curious how much shooting the average THR member does.

Definitions - Going shooting means taking time to go to a specific place and shoot at least 20 rounds through a particular weapon.

I do most of my shooting at "official" ranges. Even though I own a farm and have 100 and 200 yard setups, I enjoy going with my father-in-law or friends more than I enjoy going alone. I also tend to make going shooting an all day affair. I like to go and shoot at least 3-4 hours at a stretch. Just my personal habits.

Since I'll probably be the only one who answers that shoots clay targets with my shotguns.......I shoot 3-4 times per week, generally sporting clays twice and 5-stand 1-2 times

I go around 4 times a month sometimes more, but normally its 4 times a month. Usually on the weekends.

I voted 4 times per month, because I usually go once a week. If I can't make it to the range (aka deer camp), I go out back at the house for some .22 action.

I try to go every weekend. But I'm going to be joining a club that has a range; so now since I have unlimted use of a range I may start going up during the week to fire off a few rounds.

I try to get out once a week. Guess that is 4 times a month, or more depending.

I would think multiple times per week isn't the norm, so the last option on the poll covers it. One can then expand in their post.

I try really hard to go at least once a week. If I don't then I catch up and go twice. Gotta stay in practice - strong hand, weak hand, one hand, holstered, not holstered, weaver, modified weaver, even crouching... As long as I'm hitting where I'm aiming in 2 to 3 inch groups at 21' to 30' I'm happy. It does get a little expensive though, but it's no more expensive than golf.

I average about 5 times a week. Then there's days I might shoot two or three times a day, like today.
Then there's laser/light practice a few evenings a week.

I have a couple ranges on my ground and I'm retired.:)

I'd say I average at least 5 times a month. I belong to a private club that's 15 minutes away - one stop sign down a country road. Entry is through a coded electric gate (8am to dusk) and I'm often by myself. It almost makes me forget I'm in NJ.

I try to shoot the two Sunday's a month my wife works. Then I try to shoot once a month at the indoor range after work. I try to keep consistent 3 times a month.

I try to go shooting weekly, but it never seems to happen. I get out to the range about 3 times a month.

However, I also shoot an air rifle in my basement a few times a week, so I guess that could count too.

My regular shooting pal and I have designated Friday as Range Day; but we have frequent cancelations due to weather, illness and important activities that must take priority.

Some times I'll go out on a Tuesday or Wednesday to check out new hand loads or try out a new firearm.

Once a month these days no time and even less money. But i guess i shouldn't complain i often fire several cals.

I shoot on my own property, out to about 250yds so I shoot probably at least 2-3 times per week. Sometimes every day.
