Reliability: The U.S. Army “Mean Rounds Between Failure” (MRBF) requirement is 495 rounds for 9mm pistols. During testing of the CZ P-01, the average number of stoppages was only 7 per 15,000 rounds fired, this is a .05% failure rate, an MRBF rate of 2142 rounds! -CZ Catalog

I've put 500 rounds through my new CZ 75 Compact, it's the first gun I've bought since my Colt revolver to be perfect out of the box. When my new holster gets here, it will replace my Kimber Ultra CDP as my primary CCW. I just love this gun. Mike Z

the very first gun i bought was a cz po1 compact.. ive shot about 1000 rounds through the gun and not a single malfunction... the weight of it is awesome the look.. im very happy with this gun... well as for the shooting part.. id tell ya but i still suck at shooting... not enough practice.. but definately recomment the gun.. easy to take apart tooo... goo dluck

I have a pre-B 75. About 500 rounds so far. No malfunctions of any kind. Nor do I expect any. Accuracy is uncanny, service grade autos aren't supposed to shoot groups like mine does. It's a tack driver, no other 9mm I own (except my Sig 226) instills such confidence.

You do your part, the CZ will do its part. CZ makes an incredibly consistent and reliable pistol.

Over 120,000 rounds on my last one - seriously.

Average of 500 rounds per weekend over a few years added up in no time, and I replaced the barrel around that 120,000 mark because it miked out at .360 or .361

I like them well enough to own 4 1/2. 75BD, P-01, IPSC Standard, 97B with the blue finish and the Kadet Kit. I had some feeding issues with the 97B when I bought it used, with very little wear. I've replaced mag springs and polished the feed ramp and it seems fine. Had it out to the range today and fed it six mags of 200 lswc over 4.1 gr Clays, 1.26 OAL. Not a hitch or a bobble.

I put about 400 rounds through the IPSC trying to decide if I want to use it for speed steel. Decided to get the fiber optic sight from Ghost Products. My Sig 226 Sport Stock really improved with the LPA fiber optic sight set.

I was at the gun show last weekend. Looking at a CZ75B. Another guy came up and was very happy to see it, wanted to know if I was buying since he really wanted it. I said I already had the BD and was good. He and the dealer both said that the CZs are moving pretty good right now. Probably from all this mindless internet promotion.

Oh yea, the 97B shoots better than my SA Loaded Black Stainless Target and cost 1/2 as much.

A couple of months ago I traded for my first CZ. It is a CZ75BD POLICE version. I have now run almost 1000 9mm rounds through it....it's just like the proverbial Timex Watch.....takes a likin and keeps on tikin. Seriously....it has yet to malfunction in any capacity. Mine is extremely accurate with 124gr. JHP's.

I also picked up a couple of Tucker holsters to carry it in.

Do be careful about off-brand magazines, but I guess that applies to just about any pistol. I forget who OEMs for CZ these days. My last day at the range with my 75B I had some significant issues with feeding AND extracting, so I guess I need to check the extractor and giver her a good scrubbing.

Had a CZ75 and a CZ100 back in the day...starting to feel the urge for a 75 again.
The 75 was rock solid reliable, regardless of what I fed it, the CZ100 was CZ's first foray into plastic guns and it had a few issues with firing (not feeding/extracting) cheaper ammo - I could probably have fixed it with a new spring, but buying gun parts in S. Africa is like attempting to move mountains.

Here is a picture of a CZ100...

I've found mine to be very very reliable. The only kind of "failure" I've had was premature slide-lockback (slide locking back while there were still rounds in the magazine) which was operator error... my grip was forcing the slide-stop lever up.

CZ proudly posts the results of their "torture" testing on their website (something that few other manufacturers do).

I bought a 75BD (decocker) so I could participate in local IPSC matches and practices. I clean it every 500 rounds or so using a parts cleaner made for cleaning greasy tractor parts. It takes out all the grime and leaves it with a completely clean and dry pistol. I do have to lube the heck out of it afterwards though, the mineral spirits take all the oil out. I never experienced a failure once I got my reloads figured out, and I saw many Glocks malfunction while my gun kept on shootin'. I have put around 8,000 rounds through my 9mm now.

That does it. I hate you guys.

I've got to go get that CZ I've been eyein' for weeks after work...

I can say the same thing when it comes to M16 platform in 7.62x51 cal (I'm still having dreams about Mk.11 or SASS)

That's the pleasure of THR, many good experiences and nice pictures selling you on something.

Back On Topic, the CZ handguns are usually worth their weight in gold (discounting the occasional lemons every mfg make).

100% reliable. I own CZ75Retro, CZ75B 9 mm with Kadet kit, and P-01. None of them had any malfunction ever, for over 3 years of use.:)

Someone's gotta ask - didn'tya notice a slight loss of accuracy first??? :neener:
:D You would think so, but she actually shot pretty darned well - if memory serves, she'd still group into about 4" at 25 yards, but ooooh, the leading....

I have a CZ PCR with about 2,000 rounds through it with zero malfunctions. I've tested it with ball ammo only prior to my JHP for potential carry. At this rate, I'm sure it will be a phenomenal carry gun.

I believe the OEM magazine is from Mec-Gar. I just bought 2-14 rounders from CDNN.

My PCR is the only semi-auto I've ever owned that I can honestly say has never failed in any way. It's currently at about 1100 rounds I think. It's also the best feeling and most naturally pointing handgun I own and in my opinion a great looking handgun. From the bench I can shoot ragged holes with it.

I bought a Kadet Kit for it and it's more reliable and about as accurate as my Buckmark.

I had a nice ported XD-9 that worked fine most of the time but I sold it after getting the PCR. The leather Fist #1 leather IWB holster I bought for the XD-9 works better with the PCR than it did with the XD-9

One of these day I may get a full-sized 75 for a range gun.

I'll admit

CZs are my favorite handguns. I own far more CZs than anything else.

In general, they are extremely reliable. However, CZ does occasionally crank out the odd lemon. The vast majority of the time they are as good as anything else (Glock, Sig, HK, etc.).

You occasionally see
Extraction issues (often with Blazer). Sometimes new springs fix this. Never had this problem myself.
Failure to feeds. I've had new CZs do this, but after a couple hundred rounds this has always dissapeared
Trigger return springs. I've had one break (still trying to get CZ to fix it!). Others have reported issues.
Slide Stop breakage. Usually on high round count guns, or guns with some other issues. Never happened to me though.

Don't take these comments the wrong way. CZs are in the vast majority of cases very very good guns and non of the above issues are common at all. CZ UB just seems to occaisonally have a bad day. I wouldn't hesitate to buy one.

Every single one of my CZs shoot sub 3" 10 shot groups at 25 yards. Currently in my possession:

1986 CZ75 ~4000 rnds. Never malfunctioned. Extremely accurate. Most accurate centerfire autoloader that I have.
CZ75B 2004 about 4000 rounds. Maybe 2 FTE. Currently Trigger return spring is broken. This is my beater gun.
SP01. ~4000 rnds. 1500 of that were nasty surplus subgun ammo (corrosive mixed headstamp). No issues. Has never malfunctioned
CZ40P Probably 500 rnds. Had feed issues initially. Went away after ~150rnds. Very accurate. Hit gatorated bottles at 50 yds easily.
CZ75B 40S&W Bought used. Only shot 1000rnds through it. No malfunctions.
CZ Kadet 22lr. About as accurate as my MKII Target (that's good). Reliable for a rimfire. Worth every penny.
