Hey there. I have a question i am a bit confused about. I found this gun being sold by an individual in Florida, let's say its $200. Shipping is $25. I found an FFL holder at a pawn shop that does transfers for $20. So is the total transaction $255? I've never done such a transfer but i want to know how.

The total amount you would pay out is $245. And yes, that is how it works. You must figure in the shipping costs and tranfer fees into the price before you bid or you may end up spending more than you wanted to.

I pretty much figured thats how it was. I thought i found some good deals until you factor in shipping and FFL transfers.

Wouldn't this also depend on the Buyer's home state and the Seller's home state? Could be a double pop on the FFL fees, one on the sending end and another on the receiving end depending upon local reg's.

Make sure your FFL will accept shipment from an individual, some don't. If the selling individual has to take it to an FFL on his end, the cost may be higher.

Other than Title II weapons, there is no law against individuals shipping firearms through private couriers (and long guns through US Mail). If his FFL won't accept a shipment from an individual, he should find another, more reasonable FFL if possible.

Depends upon the state of residence and if the shipment is relative to a sale of said firearm, per my understanding. But, yeah, if I want to ship a firearm to a repair facility I'm fairly free to do so.

$20 for a transfer really isn't too bad. My transfer place charges $30, and I know of places that charge as much as $55. In my area, there aren't any below $15- and that particular individual works out of his house and has inconvenient hours.

Buying new guns online may or may not save you money. What buying online is good for, is finding old and discontinued models.

Yep, $20 is quite reasonable. That's what my guy charges. Even with shipping and transfer, I usually save a lot of money buying guns online, as the gun stores around me are ludicrously expensive.
