No, it's because they and Sig USA screwed up and Germany will no longer allow them to export German made guns to the U.S.

sounds like your issue is not with liking the cartridge but in not liking the gun wrapped around it. This Sig should change your view.

If that were true about the U.S. being on a GERMAN non-export list, then either SIG would be having a going out of business sale or having to make all their models here.
They may be doing that, but I do not know for sure.
On the other hand, that export ban may just apply to COLOMBIA.
Note: the U.S. has been in several conflicts other the last decade!
