Basically, it's the Rush Limbaugh/Sean Hannity constituency.
Bjengs, I would like to quote you on those things. That theory is right on the mark. Its so much clearer now.

Personally, even if I would have had the age to vote in 2000, I would have not voted for either. I didnt know about the libertarians then. To me, it was a choice between a cardboard cut-out with a moveable arm (controlled by the Democrats) or a retarded monkey. Sorry, I cant vote for either of them.

Now, I wouldnt vote for Bush if he signed a document saying that I would get $100mil and be made a Federal Marshal (so that I could carry everywhere). Just not going to hand my vote to my oppressors, or those who want to oppress me.

Quote away! Unless I'm proven absolutely wrong, in which case it was all your idea. :D

The system will never allow a legitimate candidate to get past the primaries. This goes back to the 19th century. Also, I guarantee you will never again see a Presidential debate among more than the two D/R candidates.

It certainly has led me to reconsider voting.

Is the RKBA third on the list of loyalties, after The Republican Party and George W. Bush?

Maybe some forget that AL GORE ALMOST WON THE 2000 ELECTION! Would we even have this discussion if Pres. Gore was out there taking away our V8 engines?

The term "assault weapons" is so misunderstood and co-opted by the gun-grabbers that Mr. Average American supports it. It's an unfortunate political reality. We all need to point out to anyone that will listen that "assault weapon" can mean almost anything.

Without Perot, no Clinton.

Without Clinton, no AWB to renew.

Kerry will push the ban of autoloaders.

Show me the Libertarian way and I'll follow, but Libertarians will never agree on enough issues to become a dominant force.

I will educate, inform and complain to the R. party to shoot down the AWB, but I will join ranks and vote for Bush to avoid the further erosion of RKBA.

"W" Sold us out

I wouldn't be surprised to see this bumper sticker on "W"s limo:

The 2nd Amendment: it IS about duck hunting
....just ask Dick Cheney

If the AWB extension is passed into law under Bush, I will curse his name forever.

And, at that point, I might even support the dem. candidate. Why? If you look at the history of gun control legislation, most of it was enacted under republican presidents. When a dem. president is in, the Right fights like crazy against that president's agenda. When a repub. is in, all the republicans support him (while paying lip service to their base) even if that president goes left.

AGAIN, if the AWB is renewed under BUSH, I will curse his name and actively campaign against him.

NOTE: I don't like being patronized. Ex: This "GAY MARRIAGE AMENDMENT" thing. Bush says he supports it, but watch. He won't actively push for it...he'll do nothing. He thinks we're all dumb. He buys us off with a few promises, then does whatever the hell he wants. I hope I end up being wrong on this, but I doubt I will be.
