Since my needs are more geared toward defense against human attack, I would opt for a full-sized military/police service pistol and a small backup/hideout.

My Smith and Wesson 681PC and my SIG P220 Stainless. A .22 conversion will soon be available for the P220, so I would have that as well.

My reasoning is the 681PC is just about the most versatile firearm I own. 7 shots, moon clips, 3inch, fixed sights, easy to carry yet big enough to shoot for pleasure etc. All that and chambered in probably the most versatile center fire pistol caliber ever, .357 Magnum.

The P220 is a full sized all stainless uber reliable .45 service pistol that I can soon easily convert to a nice .22.
