And in the end, the Davy Crockett system was a failure, only deployed from 1961 to 1971. With a nuclear warhead, firing it would have been a suicide mission for the crew, due to intense radiation exposure. (The blast effects were minimal compared to the radiation effects.) But if it had been used, the resulting escalation would have led to WW3 and the end of the world as we know it. (This is exactly why the Russians can't use tactical nukes in Ukraine. It would just take insanity to a new level.)

Beat me to it. If I had a billion dollars that could only be spent on firearms related, I would buy stock in several different firearms companies. In fact, I might buy stock in certain companies just so I could either make major changes from within or just shut their doors.
 
I would not buy any guns, I would just pay some goons to take care of everyone that angered, they choose what they want.

With a Billion Dollar Budget I would travel the country looking for fine and unique pieces of history. Old Smith and Wesson, Colts, Winchesters, and Remingtons.
I would also buy many limited edition remakes of fine firearms.
I would stop buy THR members towns and cities take them out to lunch. And leave them with a new firearm to break in and enjoy.

When I got to Ruger country I would stop and see @Mark_Mark and have him make me one of them fancy Ruger 44mag carbines in a left handed model!!!!!
 
I could spend a billion a whole lot quicker and better than most people, or so my wife says. As for guns, as a billionaire production guns bore me. I still want a knee mill, a lathe, and a bunch of blueprints. Also a cnc booth or two, stock duplicator, and a gas fired furnace in which charcoal could be burned at a finely controlled temperature and duration for color case hardening purposes. I’m going to hire a good machinist to set up my machines and get me going to where I feel like I built the guns, but really he did the heavy lifting so to speak. Forgotten designs or things that never actually got made. First thing coming off the tools is a .45 Luger, then an artillery Luger in 10mm. Don’t tell me it won’t work, I’m rich I can afford the best materials and engineers to redesign it to make it work. Next up is a Webley Fosberry in something exotic and interesting like 32h&r magnum. Nagant revolver in 300 blk (suppressed of course). Once I get the bugs worked out, it would be time for the ultimate handgun, a brass framed Keltec p32.

further thought… if I had a billion I would counteract the left wing gun control bozos and put some commercials on tv explaining how idiotic some of them are.

My idea:
Buy as many small arms, ammunition and explosive kits as I could with a billion bucks.
Attach them to small balloons with drone motors set to fly at low altitude.
Launch them to float over the People’s Republic of China.
Drop the munitions so the average unhappy Chinese Joe can arm up.
Let the Communist Chinese Party (CCP) deal with some fun insurrections all over the mainland to keep them occupied for awhile.

Of course, this is just a silly scenario made up to generate a chuckle or two.
Stay tuned for more stupid ideas.

Yeah, did some Googling and apparently there is a pair of 1911’s carved from a meteor that the supposed value is $4.5 million. I’d buy one. And there are lots of old collector guns with provenance to historical events or people that adds value for some people.

I was speculating on how much it would cost to buy one of every new production gun. I think the meteor guns fit that bill, the Holland and Holland does as well, so I might have to add some money to my budget.
 
I’m not sure it would be interesting to see what my staff of armorer’s could come up with. Now, I just need that billion…

I was also thinking about including Winnie the Poo masks rather than Guy Fawkes masks.

I wasn't talking about historical or guns owned by celebrities either. Plenty of new hand built Shotguns & SxS's that cost 100-500k, NFA items, etc.
A simple inexpensive O/U at the closest LGS to me. Pocket change for a billionaire

What would be the meaning of Life if you had $1,000,000,000?!?!?! There would be nothing material that you want because you can pretty much buy it.

$1 Billion $$$$ just split it with all your family and friends so they can have the good life for generations
