what if the law only allowed for 1 of each, i would probably go with an AR15 with a couple different uppers but for a pistol i would have a hard decision. it would have to be some kind of high cap.

Guide Gun in 45-70 and a Blackhawk .44

Since I can only have one they should be ones that don't break. :)

I would comply  but the two that would be seen would be my SOCOM16 and my HK P2K in 357 Sig.

an Ak47 and an M9 Beretta. The rest of the guns would be buried somewhere in the woods.

I think something in the M-14 platform for the rifle, and something in the 1911 platform for the pistol.

With those in hand, and enough like-minded folks, and we'll go take care of this "allowed" thing that has somehow come to pass.

Probably a stainless bolt action .30 '06 with a scope and synthetic furniture and a stainless mid-size double action .357.
For most rifle uses, as much as we all hate to admit it, a regular "hunting rifle" will do OK.
And if I can only have one handgun it's going to have to be able to do a lot of things fairly well, the .357.

And I admit that right now, I own neither of those.

Really, rather than worrying about some law, I'm kind of likely to impose these limits on myself.
I'm becoming kind of a minimalist - just don't see any reason to have a huge stack of guns around anymore and I get more enjoyment out of a few that I really like anyhow. I'll never get down to one of each but I can see myself getting down to maybe three of each and a couple rimfires.
Your mileage may vary.

Rifle: AR-10

Handgun: high capacity semi-auto like a Glock 17 or a Springfield XD9

And as someone else said, the rest would be buried in the woods.

Calibers 9mm, and 5.56.

What ever caliber the government uses will always be available some way or another.

Guns don't matter if you can't feed them.

I prefer 45 ACP, and 7.62, but the gument don't appreciate it.

Rifle: Remington 700
Pistol: Glock 17
Revolver: Ruger GP100
Shotgun: Rem 870
Machine Gun: Ma Deuce
Submachine gun: MP5

AR with a bunch of different uppers
P226 with 9mm, .40, and .357sig barrels and the .22lr kit.

Is that cheating?
