If you were President.....

I'd do as the others have stated as far as no longer enforcing gun control, and I'd also do the Unintended Consequences handing-out of pardons.

As far as meeting with foreign diplomats and leaders goes, I'd present each and every one of them with a completely match-tuned 1911 with gold accents and hand-carved wraparound grips made from California Redwood. Each would come with three matching magazines (already loaded), a fine leather holster, and a display case (also made from redwood). The serial number would be the dignitary's name.

I'd do a ton of other things, too... but not much of the rest would be gun related.

Edit: And yeah, I'd carry everywhere... and as many as I could.

If I were emperor...er, "President" damn skippy I'd keep a gnu around.
I think javalina are more fierce...and more appropriate given the current Presidents' home state.

On Topic:

Of course I would carry if I were President. Even the President has constitutional rights! If the President can't or won't exercise his freedom, how can expect the same of every-day Americans??

The President needs to set a (good) example!

Mpayne

Ever heard of executive orders.. you know, "Stroke of the pen, law of the land" comment that slick willy liked to say...

Kinda cool huh? :D

the first thing that I would do is to tell Minetta to allow airline pilots to carry a handgun TODAY, no programs, no permits, no nothin' - they're already pilots after all for crying out loud. I mean like call the pilots and tell them to bring their favorite to work today.

"My fellow Americans:

"In view of the terrorst threats that face us, and the bitter experience of September 11th, 2001, I am today directing that ALL commercial pilots be armed. Those pilotswho are firearms qualified will beging carrying firearms on their persons whenever performing their official duties, effective today.

"Those who are not qualified have 90 days to qualify.

"I recognize there are some pilots who think they should not carry firearms. There were pilots who didn't want to learn to use radios, or use sophisticated navigation equipment, too -- but today, that is a requirement.

"Those pilots who don't want to qualify can stay on the ground."

Amadeus,

Its definitely not stopping just at California... but since we're the most anti-gun state it would be a drastic change in lifestyle.

And hey, if we can do it... so can all the other states! :D

Hell, free Colt 1911's for each household! :p
