Thanks what42. Finally got to view this. :what: Talk about FUBAR!

Does anybody have a date and location for this event? I'd really like to monitor the aftermath.

lol geez guy, that is embarassing. All I could think of when he closed the slide was "look inside...check the chamber...always check the chamber...oh dear..."

Matt Payne, thanks for the 30sec outtake. I was getting sick of trying to down that whole file, even on high-speed-ds-mumbo-jumbo

Thanks for the mirror site.

Well, I'd say he just blew whatever credibility he might have had with his audience.
But again, what he told kids was to run away from guns. He did not tell them about training, about safety rules, about having to learn things before handling a gun (things he obviously didnt have too good a handle on).

This from the Associated Press...

DEA agent shoots himself in gun safety class

A federal drug agent shot himself in the leg during a gun safety presentation to children in what police describe as an accident. His bosses, however, are still investigating the incident.

The Drug Enforcement Administration agent, whose name was not released, was speaking on April 9 to about 50 adults and students organized by the Orlando Minority Youth Golf Association, witnesses and police said.

He drew his .40-caliber duty weapon and removed the magazine, according to the police report. He then pulled back the slide and asked an audience member to look inside the gun and confirm it wasn’t loaded.

Witnesses said when the agent released the slide, one shot fired into the top of his left thigh. The gun was pointed at the floor. The agent was treated at Orlando Regional Medical Center and returned to work, a DEA official said. —AP

Um, if the gun was pointed at the floor, how did the bullet hit his left thigh? How can the reporter put those two sentences next to each other. Obviously the reporter thought that this was one of those new curving bullets designed to go around corners.

And returned to work? I hope they didn't give him his gun back. Part of me wonders if he's ever 'accidentally' shot someone he was arresting. He obviously doesn't know how to use the gun that he's been issued.

what42 .... many thx for hosting that - hope it won't bite bandwidth too much. Maybe take it down after a bit or the whole planet will be hitting you!!

All that needs said has been said really hasn't it.

Proving once again that witnesses are unreliable. The video clearly show that eight or nine seconds elapsed between the agent releasing the slide (pointing up and to his left) and shooting himself in the leg.

Apparently no one can figure out that it's the TRIGGER that actually makes a gun go boom...

Yeah, I was planning to take it down once the conversation on this thread dies down.

I passed the video around to some of the people here at work and all of them laughed along with me. The fellow gun owners all shook their heads and sighed.

It's also pretty obvious that whoever wrote the police report lied. IF he had removed the magazine, then with the action open there wouldn't have been a bullet in the gun. When he closed the action, a bullet came from somewhere (but apparently not from the magazine because it wasn't in the gun :banghead: ) and magically inserted itself in the chamber.

Lol! Awesome forum!

Hey I'm new here, but I got to say this place rocks! Also I agree that only smart people like here would catch the details!.

Lol pointing at the floor? Removed the magazine?

Man that police report was as doctored as Joan Rivers.

I'm surprised that anyone allowed that video to be released! If I was a cop I'd have burned it. It has the proof right on it that he doesn't remove the magazine. What he does is leave the magazine in, and then chamber a round, in a classroom full of little kids, and then put his finger on the trigger, and then pull the trigger while not paying attention to where the muzzle is pointed, God Damn! Then all he cares about is still looking cool, gotta look cool, gotta salvage the situation, can't let the old ego take a bump!!!

I also like the fashion statement he makes, draping chains off his holster. Can't see anything wrong with that!

"So guys, never play with guns. See how ta accidents happen? They happen. Ok now I'll probie nebba be gonnbeabble ta show guns again."

So he learned his lesson, right? No sir! He won't be able to show guns again... - starting tomorrow, suckers!

"But Brian showda- bring that other gun out Brian. BRIAN! Do you have a problem?"

(Brian doesn't move a muscle, in fact Brian hasn't moved a muscle for over 2 minutes. For all intents and purposes Brian is paralysed with fear - the man is a statue!)

"See he has it right there you can got it right there - Brian..."

(to person in back of room) "I er think, he calling them right now."

(back to audience) "Bring that other gun out. Hey, you see this gun right here guys? Listen!"
(assistant traverses rifle muzzle across Brian's groin)
"You see this gun - listen up! Hey heyheyhey hohohohoh It's empty, it's an empty weapons guys. Listen!"
(crowd member shouts 'put it down', and assistant moves to return the rifle - pointing it at Brian's crotch again, of course!

If you look carefully, when the camera zooms in and he tilts the gun back (just before hitting the slide release) you see the little brass buddy slide partially out of the chamber, hit the bolt and then he hits the release and chambers it.

windows media player messed around so long with my computer, i finally had to get off that page. will check it again later....

No doubt he will find a second career in government service:

The TSA, where he can hone his skills at groping women and pilfering luggage........ :barf:

HELP! I want to see the whole 22 meg video, but even with the T-1 line here at work, it says download time, through the firewall, will be six hours! I have dial up at home. Can someone tell me either how to download faster, or if there's another way to get it. I'd love to use it in a training session.

T-1, six hours!! Holy Moly!

Well yesterday it came down for me in about 3 minutes so not slow then ... maybe the lil' guy ain't peddlin' fast enough! :p

My upload way slower CAS but if you are desperate and cannot get it - let me know and I'll try and put it up on one of my servers.

At least the site is up and the file is downloadable. I'm currently grabbing it at 0.8KB per second. Should have it all sometime in the next 7-8 hours. I'll look at it tomorrow.

BLITHERING IDIOT!!!!! :barf: :barf: :barf:

Now there's an entire classroom full of kids who are going to be scared to death of firearms forever because, obviously, if a cop can't handle it safely why should they think they can?

What a great freakin' role model. NOT! :fire: :cuss:
