I'm the only one in this room professional enough....

Wait a minute. So, he opened the action, apparently with a loaded magazine, tells everybody the gun is unloaded, then closes the action and doesn't realize there's a round in the chamber?

It almost appears he actually shows someone off the side of the screen and says something about "no round" or "unloaded" or something when he pseudo-clears the gun.

What a bozo! After looking at the video I'm thinking he cleared the chamber and reinserted the loaded mag before he started. I didn't see a round eject when he pulled the slide back. Why did he even have a mag in the pistol to start with? The AR they asked him not to handle didn't have a mag in it. Oh well, so much for the tough guy act.
He's just lucky he didn't hit one of those kids! I know if I was one of those parents sitting there with my kid I would have stood up and asked him to stop till I got my child and myself the hell away from there.

Read about it when it happened--never saw the video though.

Thanks for posting the link.

Keep your finger off the trigger until you're ready to shoot.
Don't point the muzzle at anything you are not willing to destroy.

My revolver is always loaded, and doesn't have any safety devices, and somehow, I've managed to not shoot myself in the leg. Amazing :)

FireStar: the "trigger safety" just ensures that the trigger only moves when there is a finger firmly upon it, so it won't go off if a corner somehow gets caught on something.

I completely agree with Dasmi. This is NOT a Glock issue, this is a stupid person issue. My Sigs, my Kahr, my Walther, etc, have no external safety whatsoever and I haven't shot anything I didn't intend to shoot. How 'bout that?

The 4 rules....

The download repeatedly times out. Does anyone have a mirrorred copy of this somewhere that we can download?

Hoooboy.

The DEA seems to have it's own way of doing things. Training, for instance...

Not exactly your typical silent professional here. His partner didn't see it coming either, and that's a major problem. Discharge a firearm in the presence of my child, and we'll find out fast how professional you are.

Any bets on what the inevitable lawsuit/settlement will yield from the DoJ? My guess is that number is gonna be pretty big.

For the folks who don't want to wait for 22MB to download, here is the 30 second segment that matters. Sorry about the quality -- it took some real squishing to get it down to attachment size.

If someone wants to host it, I have the whole 22MB stored locally.

I have the file but don't have the bandwidth to support it. If someone can tell me how to seed a torrent file I'll gladly make it available.

Mirrored it on my website

I was finally able to download the file from their site. I uploaded a copy of it to my website in case anyone else is having trouble getting it. I've mirrored it at http://wesleywomack.com/mos-nd-demo.wmv

I can't believe that guy. Claiming he's a professional and then waving a gun around with his finger on the trigger. Things like this only back up my belief that most police officers aren't as well trained with guns as private gun owners. They're all lucky that he didn't shoot one of those kids. I hope he has lost his job over this and that he never gets a job as an LEO ever again.

**UPDATE**
I've had to remove the file because of bandwidth issues. Not bad though. I did the math and I had almost 200 downloads of the file in one day from my server. Used up half my bandwidth for the month so I decided to go ahead and remove it from the server.

When I started carrying a Glock 22 for the SO, I was extremely aware of the trigger. If rule 3 is adhered to, it ain't a problem. Once again, there are only negligent discharges, not accidental ones.
