Bradis is just far enough away that my bank account is reasonably safe from their dreaded sales. If Popguns has a booth at the 1500, I may stop by to talk at them a bit. I like their cheap brass, but ...
And the account from ociffer that finally shot and killed the perp reads like a freakin' SEAL team de-briefing or something. And they say cops aren't too much like the military.
I read his comments in the Star. I kind of liked it. He was presented with a problem, and he dealt with it as best he could with the tools he had, and explained his actions afterwards. Good enough.

Methinks you are missing the point.

If it quacks like a duck and walks like a duck, am I supposed to think it's a swan just because the law says it isn't supposed to be a duck?

If ever there was a situation for that officer to tear-down the "us vs. them" issue, that was it. He failed. No self defense shooting could ever be defended in court using that language. Consequently, given that he's nothing more than a citizen of the city with special treatment, why should he be allowed to do so?
