Is anyone else tired of the M4 and AR15?

I'll meet you halfway. I am kind of over seeing pictures of them. However, thus far in my nearly 58 years, I find AR-15 rifles the most fun of any platform to shoot for pleasure.

I wouldn't own a AR until they became available in 6.8spc, now I have two in that caliber. If 6.8 was available in 1999 I wouldn't own any AK's. I felt the greater energy of the 7.62x39 was more useful than 5.56. But now with the 6.8, the AR fills that niche much better.
For me, it's the caliber first then the gun, the AR in 6.8 is a perfect marriage IMO, like when the Merlin engine was put in the Mustang.
There you have it. The original Armalite was the AR-10. (It existed before the M16/AR-15). The military wanted the .223, Armalite was offering the public the AR-10 in .308 Winchester.

Remember?

...but the .308 and .30-'06 are far more decisive and humane as ranges increase.

Ergo, bow hunters should use .308s? Right? I mean, we wouldn't approve of anyone taking a 350 yard shot with a bow would we?

How about pistol hunters? .308s for them too?

Black powder guys?

Seriously, I can poke holes in your terrible logic all day.

Aren't you clever? Try again. This has nothing bearing on the misuse of a .22 caliber cartridge. These stories have been constant (and well-documented) since it's introduction to the public.
