Let's say... $600 for a new gun, for the heck of it. What would you get?

$600 is covering my Charles Daly Hi Power, holster, MecGar 15 round magazines, and plenty of ammo.

Even have enough left over to consider some VZ grips.

I just played this game. I bought a M&P 40 Pro long slide (5" barrel). I like it. I want a Glock 20. I also want a Glock 23. I really want a Buckmark stainless with the fluted barrel. I want a 1911. I want an AR. I want a M&P 40c. I want too many and have too few...

If you don't own a 22 pistol, get the Buckmark first.

P99 or 10mm anything is my vote. Both of which are somewhere on my list of wants.

There is a P99 in a local pawn shop that looks like its been rode hard and put away wet... yet its still calling my name!

No collection is complete without a 10/22. For $600 you could buy a stock rifle and make a sweet shooter out of it.

Im On board with XDm in 9

Or the .327 Federal! ......... I may pick mine up Friday! I like the ballistic charts on the .327!

A few weeks back I got a Taurus 905 9mm .... I absolutely LOVE this revolver.... has become my favorite carry gun! And I have shot about 200 rounds through it so far! If one is addicted to shooting ....a 9mm is the cats meow! (MO) of course!

I would say a cz 75b, cz SP-01 Steel, or anything in 10mm everyone needs a 10.

Hey guys, it's an old thread. Nearly two months old. Revived by a n00b yesterday.

Not sure if the OP is even reading any more...

Good choice on the Walther p38 always thought they were cool guns.

I *really* like the P38. Love shooting it. It feels modern, it doesn't feel "old" like most of the old school pistols feel (e.g. tokarevs, makarovs, etc)

The 10MM is a must have. You have 40 guns and no 10? Not good, not good at all.

Hah, I know. My problem is that I want a high cap 10... and as far as I know, the only one who makes that is Glock. And I don't like Glocks. :(

Right this instant, and no saving up for the wife's Rhino instead, or my Super Blackhawk (this IS the Semi-Auto thread) ....

Cz-82... P-38... in the other Order, the old man's 82 is available, but we don't have a P-38 between us.

There's a used Calico liberty III at my LGS, but it's not one of the Oregon manufactured ones... (which is why it's not in my safe this moment)

Non C&R.. Brand spanking new...

Nicer low end 1911, or a CZ-75. I'd be waffling on those two the most..

Why did you ask this in the auto-pistol forum? If my answer has to be an auto, well, I reckon my Seecamp LWS-32 could use a little buddy of the same make and model. Really, though, no other sub-$600 auto-pistol suits my fancy, as I am spoiled for high-end 1911s and custom-shop SIGs. I like my 3.06" SP101 so much, I would like for it to have companion with the same barrel length, eventually, and $600 should about cover that.

As I near retirement from policin', the 3.06" SP101 has become my old man fivegun. I already have snubbier SP101s to act as companion guns, but as a "just 'cuz" way to spend $600, another three-incher would be sweet. (Yes, I really do carry more than one SP101 at a time.) I have somewhat large hands, but medium-to-short skinny fingers and thumbs, so an SP101 is a good fit, almost like a service weapon in my grip.
