If you're looking at a HK P7M8, look into a trade in PSP. There are different grades you can buy, and it'll be closer to your price range. Though this one won't have a heatshield near the triggerguard.

The SIG P6 is a fantastic pistol. Don't let the low price let you think otherwise, it's a low price because it's a surplus trade in pistol. But it's still 100% SIG quality. Just find one in excellent condition, and you'll be good to go! :)

Black Majik -

I was originally thinking PSP over the P7M8, as the trade ins appear to be a great deal.

As noted earlier, I am concerned that the heat issue will come into play 1/2 way through a 100 round / hour range session.

I am still seeking guidance on that.

How many rounds, and at what rate, does the P7 PSP become uncomfortable to shoot? It seems like conventional wisdom puts this at about 50 - 60 rounds, but I don't know if that is "slow-fire" or as fast as you can dump the magazine.

You could always buy a .22 converter unit for your 1911 and shoot that... Good accuracy in the Marvell units, plus cheap ammo!

My favorite gun is the P7. Just a quick comment on that. The heat issue pops up if you're firing in rapid fire. Don't think 100 round in an hour is gonna be much of an issue. If you fire 100 rounds in 5 minutes, that's a different story. Kinda pricey though unless you can get a refurb PSP
