... But not too different.

So I've got rifles in various calibers and I'm looking to add to that collection. Just not sure which direction to go, so I was hoping your opinions would point me into a direction I may have not considered.

Right now my cartridge list for rifles are as following:
.17 HMR
.22 LR
.308 (4)
.30-06 (2)
300 WSM
300 Win Mag
.223 (2)
.22-250
.243
.25-06
6.5 Creedmoor
.270
.270 WSM
7mm-08
7mm Rem Mag
30-30
45/70
7.62x39mm
44 Rem Mag

I'm looking for a bolt action, something somewhat popular. I reload but would like the option to purchase over the counter if necessary. Also not really looking for a thumper either, not sure what to look for without getting into an obscure niche cartridge.

Either something in 308 or 375H&H. Neither is a bad choice. The 375H&H in my factory Winchester M70 Safari Express kicks like a 12ga with 7 1/2 shot. Not bad at all. And man is it accurate.

But, you can't go wrong with a decent 308 either.

Edit:
And I totally missed that you have 4 308s... Ignore everything I said about a 308.

I like 6`s and 6.5`s. I'd go with 6.5-284 and/or 6mm BR. I have both in bolt and just built a 6.5 Grendel and a 6x45 and both are extremely accurate.

Honestly, after looking at your collection of chamberings and wanting something different...

50 bmg.

How about a 6.5-06? Its rare, maybe too rare though. You also don't have a 6.5x55mm or a 375 H&H. If you want to just want one of the coolest "new" rounds, look at the 6.5 SAUM.

I don't see any holes except in the bigger calibers. I would love a .375 H&H myself. Maybe something along that line.....416 Rigby, 350 Remington magnum, 8mm Remington Magnum, .35 Whelen

Thanks for all the suggestions, keep'em coming!

I've been thinking about the 375 H&H for awhile, like the idea of the one gun, one planet mantra. Thought about maybe a .338 lapua as a possible candidate as well. .204 ruger and 22 hornet also were two I were considering.

Tgonza, how's the Grendel? That one has kept me interested too. Is the only supplier of barrels/uppers AA? Or was yours something different?

9.3X62. A sensible cartridge without too much recoil. Or .375 H&H. Not a lot of difference between the two. Both excellent cartridges.

I like the 6.5x55 sweede idea. But how about a 257 Roberts, anything Ackley improved, or a 358 winchester(308 necked up to take 357 mag bullets)

You looking at the 338 lapua.? There is plenty ammo out there for it, but how much can you afford? Maybe the 338 win mag might be a better choice for decently priced ammo. I recently purchased 500 rds of Lapua ammo, costs a little over $3200 after all said and done. This is just my $.02! Do not own a 375 or 416 to add input about them. The 50 BMG, on the other hand, is a "blast" to shoot. Ammo can be had relatively cheap enough. Cheap enough I have 3 of them.

I'd say wait for a rifle that will work properly with the .22wsm. You've got a few in there that are some fastballs, why not own the World's fastest rimfire?
