Looks like the panic buying has already started.

You can always buy another one tomorrow for $50.

Don't really much care if he sells it for $50 dollars tomorrow. I'm content with selling $7 magazines for several times what they are worth. Plus I already have more firearms, magazines and ammo than I can carry, so if anything really starts to go down I feel I have plenty.

I have about 100 30rd mags acquired over the years. I wonder if I will be sitting on a fortune in a week or so? I doubt I would sell the half that are loaded, but the others... 50 x 30= 1500. Enough for my .257Ack AR build!

Hmm...

my guess is there are enough magazines out there to supply the US population for 20+ years. people may horde them and the price may go up a bit, but it will moderate over time because of the high supply.

if you're going to speculate and hold them as an investment, i'd plan on holding them for a couple decades

I have been hoarding ammo since 03. I have all the guns that I want thankfully. Not into assault rifles, but I have several Glock 17 magazines as well as several G15 magazines. Glad I got those when I did.

Today has been brutal...Wal-Mart out of 5.56/223,9mm & bulk 22, Bud's seems to be crashing. At least I have a line on some Pmags arriving at the local pusher Wednesday.

Sportsmans warehouse Denver completely out of large pistol and small rifle primers. Out of IMR-4198 powder, most of the .45 bullets gone and .223 bullets down to just a few weights and types. I didn't check the ammo supplies, but there was a 30 minute wait at the counter to get some Bullseye powder.

OMG....the price on the LE6920 on Impact Guns site is now $1499. I know for a fact that it was a few hundred less than that over the weekend. And here we go.......

Interesting. I went into my local gunshop at about 10:00 am on saturday and picked one up for $1050. I checked their website a few hours later and the same rifle was listed for $1125. I think I lucked out on that one....

I literally just ordered a LE6920MP-FDE for 1249 shipped. No one has anything in stock and I don't have a good feeling so I bit the bullet.

ARs have been disappearing from everywhere at an astonishing rate. Libs and their witch hunts.

Agreed. Prices will be inflated for a little while, but things will calm down. There are many millions of AR magazines in circulation. I have somewhere between 50-60, not really looking to buy any more (especially not at inflated prices), so I won't be contributing to the demand outstripping supply. There are plenty like me, many more than there were in '94. They'll never be cheaper than they are today, but they're not likely to be $100/ea next year, either.

If you really need them now, you may be stuck buying at a high price. If you can hold out for awhile, you won't overpay so much. If you understood how this can all play out, you had plenty before today and don't feel pressed to acquire.

Supposedly after this initial rush/Christmas buying, the shelves will be stocked again.

That's what the freckle faced youngster at Academy was saying anyway. Then again one of his compatriots was trying to sell a guy a 6" Rossi revolver for self defense out to 50 yards.

Shaking my head.

I am just looking for a 10/22 people! Plenty of ARs to be had.

The $1500 colt report and the basic Ruger 10/22 I did find for $275 makes me concerned. I know, market forces and such. But some places are going to burn customers with these prices and once the buzz calms down they won't be back.

The SKS was bought with cash in early '08 and its magazine is always attached.
It's my only semi-auto besides the Garand.

In general, if a gun and magazines were already affordable before the recent presidential election, that was the time to buy.
It was obvious to me long before the election that one tragedy involving a number of children would
"ignite the gun grabbers' gasoline", so to speak, and increase their "political capital" among much of the public.

Why did people wait for a nutjob to carry out another nightmarish tragedy, Before deciding to buy what they want?

By the way, many of those primers are scarfed up by greedy, self-centered ^&& #oles who try to scalp them for max. prices at the next gun shows. It happened in '08-'09 around Memphis.

By and large, people don't prepare for the coming storm if they don't see/feel/believe it's coming. They have other priorities for their time and money. Then something happens that threatens the stability of whatever they were counting on, and they panic and hoard.

You see it with natural disasters. Even with warning, people are often still woefully unprepared in terms of food, water, and other emergency supplies. The disaster strikes, and they will get their hands on anything and everything they can, even if it's more than they need, and sometimes they will be violent in their acquisition.

This is the best I can explain it, because I come from a different mindset and find it difficult to sympathize. I hesitate to lump myself into the "prepper" thing, but really, I am. I have always made sure to have considerably more of whatever I need/want than what I will consume by tomorrow or the next day. I know it's likely that those things will be available at any given time, but I'm not counting on it.

I know, I was joking. I plan on filling those once I get some more components to load. I have about 4k brass primed and waiting. A line on $15/lb H335 too! I will be loading after the holidays!

I saw alot of ar's at the gun show on sunday. Rock river just shipped me some ar stripped lowers that I had on order since august. I really think I will just put them away for a rainy day.

This is already out of hand, found myself getting caught up in it. All this is going to do is push the prices up out of reach of most people. I have been planning on a AR 10 for awhile now, with all the panic that seems to be going on I guess I'll be waiting awhile. Maybe I'll get a good deal from a panic buyer, then maybe not.

And what is up with Dicks? No more AR's at all.
