Misplaced priorities

"As a gay man I can tell you that very few gay people care one way or the other about gun laws. They are too busy trying to secure basic rights to really give it much thought."

I would have thought that self-defense was THE "basic right." :scrutiny:
The Pink Pistols agree.

Methinks the penguin is on the wrong ice floe............

I don't believe the suspect killed the young woman with him. The police (several officers) opened fire on the car they were both in, wounding him and killing her. It looks like the cops hilled her and she may have not have known what was happening since he apparently picked her up in West Virginia as he drove west from Massachusettes. She may have been an innocent bystander in all of this.

Anyone know whether the murderer's gun was legally possessed prior to the New Bedford attack?
Punk was 18 so the answer to legal possession is "Nope".

Jacob D. Robida, 18, was shot twice in the head and "it doesn't look good right now," said Bristol district attorney Paul Walsh Jr.

Doesn't look good??? Sounds like a good ending to a bad story. My God bless Officer Jim Sell and his family.

Man Held in Gay Bar Attack Dies After Shootout

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20060205...dXGuces0NUE;_ylu=X3oDMTA2Z2szazkxBHNlYwN0bQ--

GASSVILLE, Ark. - A teenager wanted in a hatchet-and-gun attack on patrons of a Massachusetts gay bar died Sunday morning at a Missouri hospital after he was critically wounded in a gun battle with Arkansas police, authorities said.

Jacob D. Robida, 18, died at 3:38 a.m. Sunday at Cox-South Hospital in Springfield, Arkansas State Police spokesman Bill Sadler said.

Robida was wounded after he shot and killed a small-town police officer in Gassville on Saturday and a West Virginia woman before a shootout ended with Robida's arrest, authorities said. Robida was shot twice in the head, authorities said.

Too bad somebody didn't put him down in the bar where he attacked. Would have saved the life of the officer he shot, and the girl that was with him.

Cal

Too bad he wasn't killed

by a patron at the bar when he launched his attack.

It would have been prompt justice, with no other loss of life and a great savings to taxpayers in two states.

That's no mean feat to die twice, once each at two different hospitals in two different states... Wow!
SatCong

good riddance to that lowlife vermin, shame a police officer lost his life during the shootout.
The slain officer was the one who did the initial traffic stop... little SOB probably surprised the officer at close range. +1, Good riddance to that scum.

:what: Oh, heavens to Teddy K., what are you thinking? The initial attack occurred in MA, where due to the state government's great committment to huiman rights, hardly any private citizen is ever, ever allowed to carry guns.

We can all see the kind of security that sort of atttude and law results in, can't we?

I'm actualy a little surprised that nothing did happen in the bar where it started. All the bars/clubs that I have been to here (West Virginia University...you know how the idiots here like to drink too much and think too little:banghead: ) have realy well trained bouncers and they handle at least one fight every night. One of my best friends is a bouncer and he actualy had to dissarm someone who pulled a BFK fo unknown make and modle during a brawl.

Good. I hope he had an unpleasant 130 mile trip to the hospital as well.

+ 1

My thoughts are with the officer's family, and the victims of this mindless thug.

Shot twice in the head? He was donor material most likely(kept on life support for possible organ harvest).

+10 on capping the guy in the bar. It would have saved 2 lives. This piece of ???? took two undeserving people with him. That's 2 too many. Plus if any die from the bar.

TexasSIGman got my intent right on the money: you'ld be supprised how many leftists I've had ask me about "how to get a gun", because they're suddenly scared about something, and then they get pissed thatthe politicians THEY elected have put so many restrictions on 'em. It's called sleeping in the bed you've made...
