I highly doubt that gun makers that make 1911s are worried if these old service 1911s are brought to market.
Those old 1911s are going to be rough and worn out. 1911 lovers make the mistake that those old worn out rattly 1911s are going to shoot just as good as a new 1911. I've talked a LOT of old serviceman that said that their issue 1911 was not very accurate, but would shoot.
I have read that if the CMP gets those old 1911s, they will be selling for over $1000, no thanks. For $1000, I can get a pretty nice 1911 that is new and really accurate.
With all this being said, I do wish that those old 1911s would be made available to the general population, for nostalgia sake. For the right price, I would buy one.
