I don't think any judge or jury in my neck of the woods would question using reloaded ammo for self defense as long as there's a valid reason reason for using a gun in the first place. This aint Chicago or NYC. And I would trust my handloads about as much as I trust factory made. I've been cranking 'em out since 1962, and I think I'm finally starting to get the hang of it.

I used to hang out with a bunch of cops when I shot falling plate matches and asked them about any problems using reloaded ammo. Everyone of them looked puzzled and didn't understand why it would ever be an issue in a legitimate shooting.
It all comes down to being justified in pulling the trigger. And if you do reload you might use some slightly less than full power loads. That way you could always say the you felt factory loaded ammo was too powerful or uncomfortable to shoot.
And I have never seen seen those little colt revolvers before. How neat. And we think we live in the good ole' days.
