Stop being such guys guys. Look deep. It's what's underneath. Why can't you see her for what she really is?

Sorry MDeViney, I see trouble. Not a slam, but I see an LEO hesitating because he thinks its a toy or a dummy gun.

i see your face turning the same color as the gun when the BG's start dropping from laughter

Gotta love the Old West

Thanks guys. I didn't set out to buy a custom Sharps (was going to get a regular one w/ semi-fancy wood) but when I found this one my plans changed. Sold a rifle I never thought I would (to buy this one), but that's life. John Schoffstall of C. Sharps Arms had this one set aside for his personal collection but changed his mind (Told me he couldn't keep em all). Great guy to do business with. I hope it shoots 1/2 as good as it looks.

How about a range report? (and more pics. I needa new desktop at work)

Beautiful wood on that beautiful gun, Jason. Best post in this thread yet. Treat her right.

I should be picking up the Sharps this week. I will take some more pics, and hopefully get a range report in the works.
Thanks guys

I don't own this gun. Hell, I don't even own a 1911. But this John Jardine custom 1911, a photo taken off his website, is, to me, the most absolutely stunning firearm I've ever seen.....

More then 104 year old now!

How are you counting?

That particular example couldn't be more than 100, since it's marked as a P08 (the German army designation, for it's adoption in 1908). The design was patented 110 years ago in 1898. So are you counting from the date of adoption by the German Navy in 1904?

I can't wait to post a pic of what I've done to my father's revolver for Father's Day.

Once I clean all the parts and reassemble, I'll post a pic.

How are you counting

I would count from when it was avaliable for sale and that was somewhere around 1900 if I am not mistaken.
Either way, it is a pice of history and a beautiful gun!

well, from the pics i have seen so far, none of them, i.m.o., beat a nice Remington 700 bdl. a really nice engraved one, would be very hard to beat. except for an engraved one with gold inlay! and i am sory to say, that i.m.o. a lot of the guns posted are really not all that pretty. for a hand gun, in automatics, a nice Kimber 1911 is really hard to beat! and there is really only one pretty revolver, an engraved, blued smith and wesson. that is the only gun i have seen that the word "sexy" could be used with.
