Some people, due to their own lack of critical thinking skills, are unable to distinguish actual "quality", thus they use “price” as a surrogate. They cannot comprehend how a gun that costs less can be better than a gun that costs more, since a gun that costs more *must* be better or else it wouldn’t cost more!
Really, handgun technology has pretty much hit the wall. There isn't much further it can go. Now and then you will run into a design that uses a novel operating system for an innovative material but pound for pound, they're all undertaking the same basic functions to achieve the same result. Once you get beyond a certain point, you're paying for aesthetics, decorative refinements, lore and myths.
