I guess I'm too much of a purist. I go to gun discussion boards to read about guns, NOT the warped, mis-informed (totally uninformed?) rantings of someone from Hollywood. Yet we see thread after thread about this movie or that TV program.

OH WELL.

I have been shooting (attempting to get back to the subject of the forum) for sixty years. For many of those years I thought the 1911 was one of the ugliest guns made and found the grip to be "less than comfortable". Strange, I now have a minor collection of 1911s, found some grip panels that fit my hand (Hogue #45090) and I love them (1911s).

Anyone else gone through that major a shift in what you like in pistols?

Yeah, I bought a Rock Island 1911 on sale at the Big R store in Elizabeth, and it ruined me! Now I have five.

John Browning's paw and mine must be close to the same since the 1911 fits my hand like nothing else. OTOH, my dad cussed 1911's from his experience in the National Guard pre WW II, and in the Navy in WW II, and hated their grip.
