Took the wifes MP5 out today....twice. Once i took it early this morning and shot about 500 rnds threw it in full auto, just tearin the hell out of everything i pointed at, it was a hoot, need to get her a Beta Mag for it:rolleyes:

Then this evening she left the house again ....so i decided to go out back and see how it does in longer ranges, went out to 360 yrds and was hitting the sewer lid more times then not, at 200 yrds its dead on, these things are a blast, fun, reliable, cheap to shoot and accurate. I never knew a 9mm gun could be so fun, wish my Mac was 1/4 as fun.

Because of two pieces of unConstitutional legislation passed by treasonous congressmen, namely NFA '34 and 922(o).

They are aren't they! I got the chance to shoot one like 2 years ago. Shot 100 rounds throught it, and it was unbelievable what you can do with it. They are so accurate! I'm gettting a chance to go to the Chattanooga SWAT range and shoot their guns. I fully wish to shoot another MP5 soon.

I shot an MP5 (semi-auto) in police school for the first time this week. It's so accurate it's almost boring and recoil is practically nonexistent;) They really are amazing firearms. But rather expensive for private citizens. But every policeman has his own MP5 in Luxembourg and you can use it for private shooting sessions if you want to :D

yep, MP5s are fun, a guy at my dynamic shooting club has eight of them, he also has a FAMAE SAF, love that thing even more.

Because I have a bum right eye and have to shoot long-guns left handed. Shot my friend's MP5-SD and got a face full of fouling. Once was enough. I'm glad that Stag came out with a left handed AR, even if it is a semi :D

+1 on the uzi

MP5s are fun as long as the taxpayer is footing the bill for the ammo, but I'd rather have an MP10 or a UMP in the cabinet than the MP5.

because they aren't cheap to shoot and much more expensive to actually buy. with a FA you can run through hundreds of dollars of ammo very fast.

As far as the ammo, its the cheapest centerfire MG i own or can think of owning. Try feeding a beltfed at 1,000 RPM at .50 rnd, thats $500 a minute, and yes, we have run it for 2 mins 16 sec straight non stop just to try it.

The wife got the MP5 for Christmas, i got a HK 51 and 53, i think the 51 is bad ass but the MP5 is sweet. Only thing is i have to wait till she leaves to shoot it or wait till she breaks it out and hands it to me to "Try".

My grandson and I got to shoot a couple last spring, we loved it! My wife doesn't even like guns, and yours has her own MP5? I'm SO jealous!

I shot one while I was deployed. It was a blast. to bad it's a H$K. Just kidding. I saw a guy put all 32 round in the head (of a paper target) at 30 meters.

Still didn't answer the question of the wife having a mp5 haha Im kind of curious about that... I live in california and that about wraps it up... I can BARLEY own a AR15...

Why doesn't anyone make a semi version available to the public?

They did but thanks to our wonderful people in congress HK cannot import them, Full autos were stopped being imported in 1968 due to the GCA,

They tried semi auto (HK-94) and then Bush 1 gave us the 1989 import ban, so they stopped there, and Clinton sealed it with his import ban and the AWB which prevented the MP5 because well it met the criteria,

Anyway, there were/are a few companies here in the US that make something similar to the MP5 but thanks to the NFA unless you want to go through hoops you have to get one with at least a 16in barrel which looks atrocious, So the companies are Vector which appears to be in a state of non-business/ Coharie which looks from some reports to be halfway decent, and Special Weapons..............I'd rather have a Khyber Pass Enfield than one of those pieces of junk.

So in conclusion A combination of federal laws and slipshod domestic producers cause us the consumer to get grief in the end.

Chriso, the wife and 3 daughters of mine all go to KCR and OFASTS every year for our family vacations. We host MG shoots here on our property also. We have a range in the backyard and we enjoy shooting. We shoot all the time. The kids get off the bus and go out back and shoot targets...looser does dishes, they attend weekly 4H shooting classes, the wife has custom built guns of her own, and loves a good firearm. Ever since she shot her first MP5 she has wanted one, so for Christmas i bought her one. Thats how the wife ended up with a MP5. The reason i dont have one is i never cared for them because i got ruined when i bought a full auto MAC 10 9mm, yrs ago. I HATE the thing, all it does is sit and im thinking of getting rid of it. I hated it soo much i never thought of buying another 9mm MG.

As for civilian models, get a Coharie arms, Bobcat, Vector or make your own with one of the many flats out there. Think it can be had for $1,000 or around that. As for feeding them, $180 per thousand rnds is cheap.
