Saw an ad last night for a special on MSNBC about Kids and Guns - supposed to air this Sunday (22 March) at 10pm.

Knowing this cable channel's slant, I doubt this will be... ahhh... balanced. :fire:

Just letting everybody know.

In this report

We will probably learn:

All the children are innocent that are killed by guns
-even the ex-cons up to 24 years old
Nobody needs guns, unless you are a bodyguard of the wealthy or Congressmen
People who like guns molest children and are violent
etc.
Now you don't have to watch and risk a stroke...

If I do happen to catch it on I don't know if I"ll make it through the whole program without getting mad and switching the channel

"If I do happen to catch it on I don't know if I"ll make it through the whole program without getting mad and switching the channel"

Whattsamattayou? Tired of watching the same old lies told over and over again?

Just a bump... although those of us with pre-existing heart problems or chance of stroke might not want to watch. :barf: :barf:

I don't need to watch. It will just be a rerun of all the other anti-gun hack pieces that NBC loves to invent and use to sell soap. Who would want to watch that?

MSNBC Kids and guns

Watched the first few minutes and they said it a British perspective of American gun ownership.

Like I care what the British think. To me thats like being concerned with what gas is selling for across the street from where I'm pumping gas, only concerned with where I'm at.

Got discusted and changed the channel. So full of lies and misinformation not worth wasting my time. Pity of it is all the suckers that will believe this trash.

But but but...what about the kids AR-15 which is a 'Aircooled, shoulder mounted, semi automatic firearm used by the US Special Forces' or something like that....

Yea, because the majority of guns aren't aircooled, and rifles and shotguns aren't pretty much mainly 'shoulder mounted'...

Nevermind that the US Special Forces wouldn't be using the semi auto AR-15's....but hey, its on TV, it MUST be true :banghead: :barf:

I knew they wouldn't let us down on this one: They said/implied that what appeared to be a stamped reciever (Romanian?) AK could "fire 600 rounds per minute".

Turned it on late, must have missed that....gee, where can I get a semi automatic firearm capable of firing 600 RPM?

What ahack job. they are now showing a machine gun shoot, like it is common place across the country.

Mention the said story in MA, but fail to mention that these guns cost 10-20K plus. They are making it sound like we just hand our kids full auto and say go have fun.

Is it really true that a gun kept at home is 43 times more likely to kill someone in the family than an intruder? That seems really unlikely to me, but I guess since most guns kept at home won't ever be used to kill anyway the number of family members killed by guns that aren't stored or used properly could oustrip the number of intruders killed. I don't htink it would be by 43 times though. That seems unlikely to me.

The person who conducted that study said it was untrustworthy. It also didn't include any defensive uses that didn't result in the attacker's death.

they said it a British perspective of American gun ownership.
What I don't understand is why they think we should base our policies on what a generally weak and socialist continent thinks. (Unless we want to be like Switzerland, and give everyone a SIG 556. I'm all for that.) We don't request that they base their schools on those of D.C. Why is it they insist we use their failed policies.

And finally, I've been shooting regularly since the age of 14. All the children in this household know how to shoot. It's never been a problem.

Seems like some kind of national media fascination with the Brits these last few years. You've got the doofus on American Idol, the 'super nanny', and Charlie Rose even had some British gal regularly covering the last Presidential election, as an 'expert' correspondent? WTH is a Brit doing providing political analysis to the Americans, of an American election? Take one look at the BBC news if you want to get a good laugh; every single story regarding something in American is so utterly slanted against us its pathetic.

light weight gas opperated air cooled magizine fed shoulder fired wepon. = M-16/AR15
But they would know that if they were alowed to own their own guns.

I just saw part of this program.
Annoying British narrator, slanted and somewhat biased reporting, locate and film the goofiest gunowners.

The only thing I agreed with on this program was the father who was asked what he says when people ask him about his teaching his children to shoot and he replyed that the conversation is very short and amounts to his telling them to "Mind their own business.", end of conversation.

The media spin doctors will get their point across every time. Anyone in front of their lens will appear as radical, irresponsible, and as mentally disturbed as they wish to present their subjects. They had many scenes of the range with all class III military grade weapons with cut after cut of things exploding and bursting into flames that shot to the sky. Then as if out of a horror film eerie child like spooky music played while a deep slow pan of the child with wild eyes holding an AR smiles like a serial killer. This little media technique is repeated over and over thoughout this sycophant film made exclusively to satisfy the insatiable appetite of the anti’s.
