May GOD be with your son and your family in this time of need. I feel so bad
for you, as I know that is devastating news. We will keep your family in our
thoughts and prayers. Wish there was more that we could do to rid your son
of that terrible ordeal~! :)

If you post a paypal email address here, i'm sure many members including myself would be willing to kick in something.

having raised money for cancer patients before (a much loved old cowboy reloader at my local range), I have following suggestions

1. put up a page scan of your son's medical chart (or whatever it is that the doctor gives you in terms of documentation)
2. a picture of your son today (as current as possible) along with a little bio (for instance, the gun you had planned to go shooting with him with)
3. what the money is to go toward (chemotherapy, etc)
4. a paypal email address
5. what amount you need (your goal)

my prayers are with you. you're not a new member, and ive read your posts before.

If he is having nausea, try making him some ginger-root tea, or ginger-ail with peppermint extract.

I added you to my myspace page

and will post a bulletin.
I also have pictures of guns on my profile, so this is now a gun related thread!

Got you guys on my Friends list and I'll post a bulletin.
Good Luck and stay strong.

1. I dont have access to that information right now, but i do have a news link for a local news paper that ran a small article it is http://www.saukvalley.com/articles/2008/02/04/news/local/299427119128533.txt

my son Braeden Peska was diagnosed in October with stage 4 rhabdomyosarcoma. Which is a rare form of cancer that originated in the muscle tissue in the right side of his face and has spread to a small part of his lung and his bone marrow. He is currently undergoing weekly chemotherapy treatments at Children's Hospital in Peoria. He is a very bright and active boy who loves to color and play video games. As to what we planned on going and shooting, i owned a few firearms including a 10/22 which i figured was a good firearm to start him on, however when he was diagnosed i sold off my collection to be able to take time off work, but i plan on getting some new firearms soon and taking him out when it gets warm. I had not planned on letting him shoot for a while but due to the current situation i am not going to wait. It is something he was wanted to do for a long time. And i have slowly taught him respect for firearms, and the difference between real guns and fake guns.

3. Any money raised will go towards medical bills, travel expenses, and anything that will brighten his day.

4. My paypal address is [email protected] and on the myspace page there is a donation link as well that will direct you to my paypal account.

5. As to an amount goal i really don't know.

And thank you for all of your concerns and thoughts and prayers, it means alot. thank you

May our Lord's peace be with your son and his family. just can't imagine a much tougher situation

Wish you all the best and you and your family are in my prayers. Going to myspace now.Mod LA thanks for letting it run.

By chance, have you talked to St. Jude's

He is currently receiving his chemo through the St. Jude Midwest Affiliate at Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria Illinois.

I'm sorry to hear about your son's recent diagnosis.

If you ever get overwhelmed with medical jargon that may fly your way depending on the healthcare team managing your son's treatment, feel free to shoot me a PM. I still remember the lecture that we had on rhabdomyosarcoma - it's heart breaking stuff.

Best of luck to you and your son; my own experience as a medical student has lead me to conclude that if you want to fight a disease, it's never over until you give up hope - I've seen my share of "miraculous" recoveries, despite my relatively limited time on the floors.

You know I'm a pretty good size guy but look like a little kid right now with tears running down my face.

My 4yr old daughter asked me where he was at and I told her with his daddy then she asked me what was wrong and it went down hill from there.

I started a thread about loading with our kids and enjoying every moment you can with your kids. We just never know when things like this will come about any of us.

I will be sure to add you to our prayers and prayer list at church.
