Help responding to my 9 year old's teacher...

Ok, now I know I was a bad person when my children were growing up. Every year the schools would send home the rules. The parents were supposed to read them and sign the booklet. Well, I did read them and toward the end they had a paragraph worked in about how they reserved the right to use corporal punishment at their discretion. I had seen them abuse that permission and they like to drill holes in boards to whip the kids. I was having no part of that. I crossed out the paragraph, initialed it and whent to the school. We had some words and they understood that if they used the paddle, they would have it shoved in one of their orifices. That was plan A and plan B. They called me when they had a problem and I handled it. I was pretty strict and would not allow my kids to disrespect their teachers.

I have found it is much better to get to the point with them. Of course that was quite a few years ago and "my wife has since showed me the error of my ways."

certainly the teacher has a personal agenda she is trying to enforce. My reaction to the teacher and principal would have been something like..."Soooo, if my son goes on to be at the top of his ROTC class, and continues on to make a career in the military defending his country, your rights and lives, that would be a bad thing in your opinion?"

The response could be quite entertaining.

school

these posts are bad for my heart.I came from a different culture it was called before WW2.if my child had gone thru that I would want the school commitee
to fire her as she is an example of a brain dead person.and I would remind the school committee that there were elections and court hearings in the future.:uhoh::fire::banghead::cuss:

Claim that you pray nightly to John Browning as he is God in may circles and you feel that your son was singled out on religeous grounds.

congratulations on the outcome of the situation (though i wish it hadn't had to happen in the first place). on a side note: i read this well before leaving for basic training and am now a month in tech school learning to fix my airframe. glad to hear the followup, i didn't expect the news.
thanks

So many responses. I know I could wax lyrical on this matter but I shall refrain.
Can not help but have a deep disdain for the way schools are these days.
If it was my child I would have a meeting with the teacher or administrators and have some words with them. I really would.
Bloody execrable braindead public education system.

I would get him into an academy or religious model school where there isn't that infernal parboiled committee camel mentality.

I like a good ending.:D The chance to educate in a positive (per High Road) way will go a long way to advance our childrens future actions. It seems a step or two back, review the options, and react in an appropriate as well as timely manner, is always option #1. Shootin from the hip when pressured shifts us from proactive to reactive with most often poor results. If everyone reading this thread were to go to a years worth of school board meetings the positive impact could be felt nationwide. If nothing else to correct misinformation whenever it is known to be presented. I bet it happens more than once in that year. There will be other opportunities besides firearms for you to assist in correcting views on be assured. All governmental entities dislike an intelligent citizen that wants the truth to be seen.:scrutiny:
