Do I need more firearms?

Look at her closet and announce: "I'll not buy anymore guns if you don't buy anymore shoes." Chances are if she's a keeper she'll catch on. If not, buy guns and don't bring them home since you'll end up selling most of them in the divorce.

Kiln,

It isn't a question of "how many" as much as it is one of how much.

Anyone can spend money on a bunch of guns they don't have time, or money, to feed, but a real "collector" spends his money on quality instead of quantity.

As long as the bills are paid and the savings are on schedule it shouldn't really matter what the money is spent on (as long as it is legal).

I'm trying to get sources to do a research paper on roads, WHY this keeps coming up in my searches is annoying me!

You buy a gun, she gets some jewelry.

You buy a gun, she gets some new dresses.

You buy a gun, she gets to redecorate a room.

...You will actually have her looking forward to your trips to the gunstore.

All this of course assuming that you want to keep her long term...

Me and mine have an arrangement kinda like J-Bar.Not written in stone and kept up with rigidly, but not taken litely. Its worked more than 35 years. Lightman

Your collection wouldn't even fill one of my safes, and I dont have enough!

That depends. Does she have as many as you have?

My DH and I take turns. Its his turn next. :D
GREAT approach, that
always worked for us
(with notable honors to J-bars approach as well)

She did lose interest in shooting for a few years, but being a DH, I bought a few "for her" anyway. Finally got her out to the range last weekend again, though, and (doggone it) she can still out shoot me with a rifle off-hand... and can still match me with those "for her" extras, 1st time out of the gate with 'em

go figure :)

what do you guys think?

at quick count, I only see ~20 total
I would call that a good START
a few more nice knives wouldn't hurt, either

but as for advice on marital affairs, my mamma raised a fool, not an idiot child
so you are your own there, bud !
(BTW, how many shoes do she have in her closet ?)
y es good start but a long way to go keep buying brother

No Garand, no M1 Carbines, no 1911's, only one Mosin and one Enfield, you got a LONG way to go buddy!

My wife and I use strict equal funding. I buy another gun, she gets the same amount for her own use, whatever that may be. Actually keeps me in line quite nicely, since I basically need enough for TWO guns. Keeps me looking for deals!

You definitely asked the wrong group of people... or the right group... depends on how you look at it

Nice collection. I do not see a single action revolver nor, as has been said, scoped long range rifle. You ever tried to get your wife out to the range? Have fun and bangaway.

I voted the final one... ;)

Need and want are quite different things.

So if she thinks YOU have enough guns... it's time to pump up HER collection :D

First, this makes me glad my SO looks forward to gun store trips ALMOST as much as I do (I tend to just hang out, and go weekly, even if theres nothing major new, and I dont have money to spend, she prefers to go a bit less frequently, and when we can get something). And that she has several things still on her 'want' list, which is ever-growing...kinda like mine.

That said, depends on enough. If you've got the spare money, and you've got the desire for more, then it's not enough. Obviously she needs to get things she wants too, just make sure you keep a fair balance, and if she still has an issue...well, that's for you two to work out.

Lol, sadly six forum members voted for that option. I understand, sometimes when there is a joke option it is just too hard to resist.

Speaking of which, anybody else got their entire collection laid out for a picture? I gotta say that I'd like to see some of the other guys' guns laid out too. :)

I own 9 firearms, and my girlfriend started saying I have enough after I bought 2 or 3. It's really a tough situation. I'm not going to get rid of her because of it, but at the same time I really get sick of hearing about how I spend my money. It's a catch 22... d***ed if you do, and d***ed if you don't.
