I have enough...

What changed? Guess I am just getting old and want to have more fun and some cheap thrills. Or maybe there is some other reason.

Heh! Well, if you're looking for "cheap thrills", a gun hobby probably ain't gonna be all that cheap! Even reloading is going up.

But hey...it's all perspective, right? Like another member said...dinner for two or a movie for two is a couple boxes of ammo right there.

:)

I cut down to 4+ 2 rifles/shotgun. But now decided to get one high cap gun for the nightstand, "like a 20 round mag" and 1 real nice 1911. My problem like a couple others is I don't shoot enough anymore. It's over 60 years of shooting and 44 of carrying. Love the guns but very few convenient places to use them. I can't justify having guns that I never use anymore. Been thinking of paintball, airsoft, as an alternative, now if I could just find a few guys to go with.

How did this happen? I was not looking, nor even thinking of adding a new weapon. I was after a few parts to enhance an existing rifle, just things to make it a little more accurate, maybe spice up the looks somewhat. Well, during this looky-loo, I wound up with enough 'extra' pieces to build a complete .308 from scratch. This while parts shopping for my 7mag. I just don't understand how this could have happened.

When I started, I had a single pump-action shotgun. That led to an over/under. Then I wanted a handgun. That led to a revolver. And then a .22 semiautomatic. Then a .22 bolt-action rifle to pair with the handgun. And then two more revolvers, followed by a levergun to complement the revolvers. And a .380 for carry. And then, of course, a 1911. None of these were impulse purchases, but they feel like it cumulatively.

Now, though, I think I'm ready to be more circumspect with what I purchase. One of the revolvers has been traded, and another one is soon to follow. I'd like to limit the calibers that I reload for and to stock up on components.

I have more than I need. Not as many as I want. Don't get to shoot as much as I want now since I cant find the components I need to reload all I want to shoot.

I probably wont purchase anything new for a while unless one of the "gotta have it" guns on my list shows up. Then all bets are off. But really, I don't know that I will ever have enough guns.
