Do you name your guns? if so what do you take into consideration when naming it?

I just got a Ruger Redhawk 44 mag 7" in stainless, and havent named her yet.

My Colt 357 mag revolver is named Lucky Lady, as the first of her 5 serial # is 777

I have a K31 that I refer to by the name of the guy it was issued to (noted on the tag under the buttplate). This is only so that I can distinguish it from the other two K31s I own. Aside from that no, I don't give objects names for its own sake, it is a silly practice.

Never named any of mine. Only person I know who has a named gun is my uncle. He has several dozen guns, but only one has a name. It's an old 12ga pump (not sure the brand - Ithaca maybe) that's named "Willard". I'm sure there's a story behind it, but I've never really asked.

No. Nor do I name things for other hobbies, nor do I name other tools. John the RC heli doesn't do anything for me, nor does Thumb-buster the hammer.

But if you want to, have at it. I'm a live and let live kinda guy.

Not really, I've seen way too many people anthropomorphize items and take it way too far, though I did debate naming my AR-15 Clara after Clara Norton Fowler.

When I'm laying in bed with them I call them all baby...... then I.......... never mind. I've said too much. ;)

Ummm..... No. It's a thing, not a person or a pet.

No I have never felt the need to name any of my guns, or any other tool or object that I own. Just not my style.

Sure. I don't currently own a firearm, but when I get that Mossburg 500 I am saving for, it shall be called Abraham.... (the first of many, get it??)

I used to but stopped when I got married. My wife was under the impression that they were all named for ex-girlfriends. Completely untrue.

One of mine has a name. My Mosin Nagant M44 is Ivan. So is my friend's M44, and another friend's 91/30. They're Russian; they're all Ivan.

I've jokingly called my Carcano 'Mario' before, but it's hardly stuck.

My 870's name is Kandice. Named after someone I know. It's loud, and likes break stuff.

I don't really get to shoot anymore. I'm not close enough to any of my guns to name them. If one had any particular significance, or I was unusually enamored with one, I might. But otherwise not.

nor does Thumb-buster the hammer.

I'm studying geology, and have developed some fondness for my rock hammer. I've considered naming it in the past.

I do some of them. It's fun, like a car guy might name some of his cars :)

My 1911 .45 is named Samantha, my Springfield Armory XD is named Georgey (because I bought it with the stimulus check we got from George Bush) :D
