FINALLY got my HK USP 9mm in from Bud's today. I ordered it about 10 days ago.

I previously had a fullsize 9mm USP about 10 years ago. Decided to get one again. This will be my 4th HK I currently have. I hope to go shoot it Fri evening or Saturday.

Came with factory night sights and 3 mags :)

My hk's like to be kept clean, lose accuracy after a couple hundred rounds. You have the same experience? My cz' just keep going.( I read you have 4 over at hk forum)

All the grace and ergonomic refinement of a brick - and just as solid and reliable as one, too. I need to dust mine off again...

Had one in .40S&W some years back. Solid, well built gun but not so much so in the ergonomics department. In a 9mm. I still prefer my Hi-Power and CZ P01.

I haven't noticed the accuracy dropping off at all, but I don't think any of my handguns lose accuracy after firing only a couple hundred rounds.

My oldest gun is a .40 USP. It's worn out a holster, and almost ready for it's third set of night sites.

On the plus side the USP is built like a tank, and I'd trust my life to it. On the down side it is "brick like" in it's ergonomics.

These days I mostly wear mine when I shovel snow. I believe the USP to be the finest handgun available when wearing heavy winter gloves.

Nice pick up OP, I hope you enjoy it. Now spend the rest of your life shooting that tank of a gun enough to break it!

I have never noticed a decline in accuracy in my USP .45ACP.

I seldom shoot more than one box of ammo, and clean it when I get home, but the first 50 out of a clean pistol plunk them into the black part.

Good thing the OP lives close to me.. shoveling snow is likely never to be on our radar.. :)

No, I have not noticed this. And, I have owned 10 or 11 HKs total, over my adult lifetime.

However, I admittedly clean my guns after each and every range trip...

I've never noticed this either. Dirty or clean my HK's always shoot better than I do.

Just a thought, perhaps your CZ fits your hands a bit better, resulting in less shooter fatigue on an extended range session, and therefore less loss of accuracy as you tire. Maybe not though. Just a thought, like I said.

Nice USP Shipwreck! I'm jealous.

No,, I'm a woodworker by profession and I've got a grip like a monkey from twisting clamps .
. when i start missing it's time to clean.lol.

Beautiful! With my smallish hands the USP's are a bit out of my comfort, that led me to the P2000 which I really like shooting. In good hands the gun is impressive. Even in my so-so form it brings a smile each trip out. Enjoy!

Gotcha. Must be pretty dang dirty then. How many rounds are we talking between cleaning?

I handled the full size in the shop recently and it's comparable to the Beretta 92FS. It felt great too...I already have the P2000sk and plan to pick up the USP 9mm, VP9 and P30sk.....H&K are my third favorite gun...1) Beretta, 2) CZ and H&K - in that order.

I'd guess 20mags or so,,,so 200 rounds ,don't think it's the powder ,happens in both 45and 9. IJust deal with it.

I have a P30 V3 in 9 and it is a great pistol, just wish it could have been a 40 but couldn't find one when I had the money. Anyway To the OP nice pistol and I don't think you will have anything to complain about.

Ok - today was my 2nd range trip with this gun... Very happy with the gun! I was kinda mixed about it on the 1st range trip, so that is why I took it back to the range today...

I went in the morning the first time. And, the rear sight was off. I am a pretty decent shot, and the gun was shooting 2 inches to the left at 7 yards. You could see that the rear sight wasn't centered.

Lucky for me that the gun range/gun store had a sight pusher. It actually took 3 tries to get it dead on. It's actually just off center the other way now. But, I compared it to my P2000 and P2000sk, and the rear sights on those are not exactly centered...

On the firs range trip, having to play: "ok, is it sighted in right this time" a few times" made it hard to develop a rhythm shooting. Plus, I have mild tremors in my left hand. And, I take asthma medicine that makes your hands shake a bit too.

I have noticed that if I go shooting after 2pm, I tend to have less hand shakes and shoot better. I went in the afternoon this time...

Today, I went in the afternoon and tried it again... VERY satisfied with the USP now. Much better day at the range... I shot at 7 and 15 yards. Also did some double taps as well. On those, the 2nd shot didn't drift too far from the first. Not bad for me. Much happier about the purchase now..

I'll be picking mine up nice year...thanks for posting a report and I'm glad you were able to resolve your issues with the sights.

Laura

Thanks. Since they are tritium sights, someone here in the USA would have installed them (instead of being done in Germany). They just didn't do a good job that day,

I grew up in South Louisiana. Believe it or not, I had to shovel snow once as a teenager at a job, in South Louisiana. This must have been 1989 or 90. Crazy. Never expected to be doing that there :p

Same here, but my shakes are caused by coffee strong enough that kidney damage is almost guaranteed.
