I like him, but there are some things that I really don't understand about him. In one of his videos he says he carries Blazer Aluminum 9mm because of the "weight advantage" as compared to, say, a brass cased Gold Dot round. Seems a little ridiculous to me. But, he's got some good point in his philosophy videos.

What video is that? I don't remember him saying that but that would be pretty stupid if he did.

If you want to carry a gun and protect people go become a cop or join the military.

I've got my critiques of nutnfancy, but this isn't really fair. He doesn't advocate that armed citizens go looking for trouble, or view themselves as the sworn protectors of others.

He labors repeatedly to make that point that armed citizens are to protect the sheep around them when an adverse situation finds them. That is, you are in McD's and a crazed gunman walks in. You can get out, maybe, but he advocates closing to engage the threat, both for your safety and that of the sheep. He does not advocate a private citizen hearing of trouble, and then going to find it and help.

There is a huge difference there. Mall ninjas look for trouble because of their self-important hero complex. Armed citizens and sheepdogs avoid trouble, and engage trouble when trouble finds them, for their own sake and for others who may be with them.

After reading this post I went to his site and watched some videos. Like some folks have said he is a bit long winded. Always talking or as I say cackling. But his vids are pretty good. The first one I saw was him,his son and dog hiking in the mtns. Very pretty country. I will watch more.

Yea, he is long winded etc etc. BUT I have learned more from him in a very short amount of time than any other source. Hickock 45 is right up there too. Come on. Learn what you can and filter the other stuff out.

+1 on that.

Also, unless you have way better videos, don't be so hard on the people making an effort to create some. It's fine to critique his philosophy or opinions, but he doesn't deserve wanton insults.

I like the guy

Sure he is a little long winded at times but he puts out some very good info. One thing that I really like about him is that he might give a knife a good initial review but, if it fails, he will make sure you know about it. He also doesn't only review high end stuff. He has reviewed evrything from $50 Kabar to several hundred dollar Busse knives. I really haven't watched any of his gun reviews. So, he loves his Glock, that don't make him a bad person. I think I will go watch a video.

"What video is that? I don't remember him saying that but that would be pretty stupid if he did."

If I remember correctly it was either his PM9 review, the Kel-Tec PF-9 review, or his EDC video. Sorry, can't remember which one exactly, but I think it's one of the three.

Oh good Lord Now I gotta watch the three videos if I want to verify it. Why do your videos have to run so long, nutnfancy?

I am new to guns somewhat but I have watched some of his videos and think they are for the most part pretty good. Things have to be filtered out and some of his philosophies are a little odd like over 6 ounces is unacceptable for a knife but overall I think most of his principles are sound. To those saying he has no military or LE experience Im not sure but in the video called "workers are few" Im pretty sure he says he was/is in the air force but I could be wrong.

I enjoy his and several other's video but as entertainment mostly. You may gleen some useful info an yeah he talks about his Glock too much, but I like Glocks. what i hate is You-Tube reviewers who start out a video with "I just got this (knife, pack, firestarter etc) in the mail and thought I'd do a review" and then they talk for 15 minutes about something that just came in the mail!!

If I want to watch gun videos on youtube I will go to Hickok45's channel. The guy is a genuine southerner that has a great appreceation for the Colt SAA.

As for nutnfancy, I left a comment on one of his videos and got flamed by several of his 'fan boys' telling me not to insult a flag officer from the Marine corp.

I find him long winded. And downright silly at times. Maybe for beginners he is a good source of information. But even a Glock user like me, finds him too biased at times. And what's with the Cameo, and end of the world stuff on every video. He has a new phrase he uses, "i can't think of it now", but while watching a review on the Keltec su-16c, be mentiones it several times, and things like "when you are out doing patrols in your neighboorhood", after the SHTF, he insinuates a lot that had nothing to do with guns.

Yea I was watching his video on the LETC where they were doing double tap and Mozambique drills. Well I noticed he doesn't follow through on his shots - he's literally the only one there not following through. The coaches look for that. Anyway, I mentioned it politely in the comments of his vid and he deleted my comment. I doubt he's had much tactical training other than his "run & gun" desert stuff he puts together himself.
Constructive criticism bro...

So you love oranges but you hate tangerines?

Honestly, I doubt NutnFancy shoots / uses / studies everything he reviews to any sort of proficiency.

He simply bases his opinions on new subjects based on the things he is knowledgeable and/or personal preference. ( i.e. every pistol compared to glock)

^^ And there you have the crux of it. Any negative or even not positive comment to his videos will be deleted. No criticism of Nutnfancy or TNP is allowed. It's an attitude I can't abide, even though I have found some good info in his reviews.

I enjoy watching his videos but he is very long winded. That's not always bad but sometimes he goes off onto things that don't pertain to the subject of a particular video.

It's nice to have another option among the many video and written reviews available. I take what he says as his opinion and that's it. As if I'm listening to a buddy about what he thinks. Sometimes I agree, sometimes I don't. My best friend has different likes in regards to pistols and rifles than I do. He's not wrong for feeling that way, just different. Nutnfancy does stress that the reviews are his view and opinion and results may be different for other people.

I don't like hearing that the comments are aggressively censored though. I can understand taking out offensive stuff but not observations or constructive criticism. That's not good.

I'm not a fan but I appreciate what he's doing. I don't want to do it nor could I do it as well.

He's just too.....GET TO THE POINT ALREADY!!!!!

Kinda irritating.

They're usually like...

Hey guys, nutnfancy here.

Today we'll be looking at the Sig Sauer P239 SAS 9mm. It's a totally awesome gun and I've gotta say that I like it almost as much as my Glock 19, and I've got a LOT of things to say about it.

As usual, I'll be using my little sheet here, to discuss the Sig's price, philosophy, ergonomics, accuracy, pranking and brandishment potential. This helps me to stay on track so I can fit in all my observations in 10 minutes.

That's important, because this little Sig is a tactical pistol, and it's got a lot of features. From a tactical perspective, it's like a Glock, I think, but this isn't my gun so I haven't shot it yet so I really don't know.

Before I get started, let me give a shout-out to my pals at Shooter City who loaned me this gun for this review. They've got a lot of cool tactical gear, and if I had more time, I'd talk about some of that, too. Is this camera on? You'll have to excuse me, I've got a new tripod and I haven't figured out how to work it yet.

Now, on to the Sig Sauer P239 SAS. The "P" stands for "pistol," and the "239" means it's "model 239." The "SAS" means it's totally tacticool for special forces only! Actually, maybe I should talk about why I picked this handgun to review. I've always liked Sigs, although not as much as Glocks...

That may be relevant if his videos concerened technique but they don't. He reviews gear and services.

He is doing his own thing and is succsessful with hundreds of videos and nearly 100,000 subscribers. He is the most popular gun and gear reviewer on youtube and as such he must get a lot of attention for nitpickers, safety nazis, and trolls.

"He says dude too much. His videos are too long. He likes glocks too much. He dosn't follow through with his shots. He wears too much cammo."

There are always going to be people who don't contribute but criticize to some how capitalize off of anothers work. He puts a lot of effort into his project and it is so easy to come along and claim that you can do it better. There are obviously a lot of people who watch these types of videos so if you can do better go right ahead.

You are mistaken here friend. Watch the video I referenced "LETC - making the shot" it's not a review video. Did you read my post? It's a video of him and an assistant shooting drills. That's besides the point anyway - it was constructive criticism presented politely in a friendly manner. He still deleted it. Nuff said.

That's like watching a review video and somebody says a glock 26 standard mag holds 15 rounds. You would politely correct them in the comments. If they don't ake themselves too seriously they would leave it up and say I stand corrected. I didn't say his videos don't fill a small niche for beginners or something like that. Like somebody said earlier you gleen info from them. Half of his bids are guns he hasn't even shot yet and he's basically reading a manufacturer promo slick with his same old talking pouts on top. But hey ymmv how ya doin?

I agree with youledgehammer, I have left comments and had them disappear. It looks like his sister is the one that actually filters everything for Nut

No, that video does not teach technique, he is reviewing the training that that service offers.

Sounds like passive-aggressive nitpicking to me.
