Traitors and turncoats used to be hanged, but nowadays we're too progressive to do things like that
I'll say though that I'm very disturbed and I think something is fundamentally broken with a country if its politicians can act with impunity to force laws upon citizens, that the majority of the citizens do not want.

Of course, I'm making the dangerous assumption that the majority of New Yorkers do not want this gun ban....
What recourse do the people of New York have? Can they do a re-call of the governor? Get the courts to take up their cause? How can citizens fight against a law they don't want in such a case as this?? "Vote-em-out" will be too late to do any good, and won't change the law anyway.
