Traitors and turncoats used to be hanged, but nowadays we're too progressive to do things like that ;)

I'll say though that I'm very disturbed and I think something is fundamentally broken with a country if its politicians can act with impunity to force laws upon citizens, that the majority of the citizens do not want.

( Obama-care anyone?? :banghead: )

Of course, I'm making the dangerous assumption that the majority of New Yorkers do not want this gun ban....

What recourse do the people of New York have? Can they do a re-call of the governor? Get the courts to take up their cause? How can citizens fight against a law they don't want in such a case as this?? "Vote-em-out" will be too late to do any good, and won't change the law anyway.

A sad day for New Yorkers. I listened to about 3 hours of the legislation session earlier today and the blatant ignorance of those supporting this bill is nothing short of shocking.

Ya know, I never understood, Remington is in NY and S&W in Mass,... why in the hell would you stay in a gun unfriendly states??? We'd be glad to take them here.

Ditto for my state! Big companies like Honda, Toyota, and Hyundai all came to AL and built big manufacturing plants.

All y'all gun companies come to Alabama! We've got lots of open land and readily available workforce that speaks english!! (well sort of...) :D

Idaho will gladly welcome any and all of the big gun makers (and small ones) currently located in NY.

Unfortunately, this ban will stick, but...

Hopefully some provisions will be dropped. Moor instance, the 7 round mag issue and lack of grandfathering. James tresmond, ESQ in Buffalo is starting class action lawsuit against NYS if anyone is interested get in touch with him.

Tomorrow you will hear almost the same from oblama, he will eo on mags over 10 rds
eo on background checks
not going to say eo on awb but if not an eo he will ask for legislation on total ban

It costs them nothing to just keep trying until they succeed.
Eternal vigilance. Eternal, unending, vigilance. Such is the struggle against evil.

It’s probably a bad idea but I don’t know – a little accountability might do some good.
All tyrannical leaders are ultimately held to account.

There's quite a few firearms manufacturers in Illinois too -- Springfield, DSA, Armalite, Rock River Arms, Krebs, R Guns... I may be missing some, but you get the idea.

Now my 10 round magazines will be illegal in a year?

Not as I understand it. I've been reading it until I'm cross eyed, so I could be wrong, but I believe you can keep 10-rounders that you currently own, but you can't sell them to anyone in-state or buy any more. The ones you have to get rid of within a year are the previously grandfathered ones that are over 10.

This is obviously not about public safety and is all about harassing law-abiding gun owners. And part of it is a "Gotcha!" from the Democrats because they just got control of the Senate for the first time and they want revenge on the Republicans for ****ting all over their gun control bills year after year.

Until they come after the 1911s and revolvers. "We need to get these 7 and 6 round killing machines off the streets! No honest man needs more than one round..."
