Nightstand Revolvers

This thread has been running so long my nightstand revolver has changed! I've switched to an Astra Police in .38 Special. This L-frame sized revolver has a 3" barrel, a quick-release cylinder and user-adjustable trigger pull. Mine has had the hammer bobbed by a previous owner and I've customized the factory grip. With decent sights, a fantastic trigger-pull and stout enough for a continual diet of +P ammunition, this little-known revolver is a real gem.

Usually, I use my service issue gun, an H&K P2000 in .40 S&W as I take it off when I gen undressed and put it on the next day.
Otherwise, it is a toss up. I prefer 9m.m. semi auto's like my SIG 225 or BERETTA 92 or 96 models. When I pull out a 4 inch barreled revolver, it is usually on of the .38 Special S&W model 15's, a S&W model 681 or 686 or a RUGER Service Six loaded with REMINGTON 125 grain sjhp ammo. It is easy to shoot in this caliber and should be effective for what I need.

My most-frequently staged nightstand revolver has changed since I last posted within this thread. It is, as of late, been my dad's Ruger Police Service Six, inherited when he died in 2010. It's in .357, but loaded with Remington-UMC .38 Special +P S-JHP ammunition.

Neat! May one ask the price of such a weapon?

Like Michael Tinker Pearce, since I first responded I have cycled in another wheel gun into my nightstand.

Currently serving duty on my wife's side of the bed is my 686-0 with some low recoil 158gr 357's. My side is still guarded with my 5" Colt XSE.
