Nothing in my house is worth dying for!

When I saw the thread title, I thought, "Oh boy, another pacifist who's not willing to defend his family".
I don't mind pacifists not willing to defend their families.

I mind "pacifists" willing to send men with guns to MY house to take away MY ability to defend MY family.

I fully support your right to make a stupid choice. I'll resist tooth and nail your trying to make that stupid choice for ME.

if nothing in your house is worth dying over... then i guess you won't put up much of a fight when i come to take it... right?

nope.

I agree. Nothing in your house is worth dying for.

Well, that's a valid personal choice. In my case, my two kids and my wife are "in the house" and are well worth dying for if needed. The thing is...I don't intend to be the one shot in a home invasion scenario.

That's what I said in a recent NRA sticker thread...

In the NRA's PPITH course book, they even say NOT to have an NRA sticker on the windows of your house.

I do like the op's signage though...

Amen to that!

Amen to that, as I have the same situation. However, the sign is telling the crook there is nothing in the house that is worth HIM dying over, as in, stay out of my house.

Wish I had that on a t-shirt, that's hilarious :)
Sadly I must admit I know what movie that is from. One of the things subjected to with two daughters.

Back on topic. No signs outside my house. My favorite has always been "If you are found here at night -- you will be found here in the morning". Just wouldn't place one outside my home.

So eager to die for things in a house are you.

(That was supposed to sound like Yoda.)

I've seen signage on 'exclusive' or "wealthy' homes that read:

Tresspass Produces Armed Response
If you come over or through this fence, you may be shot.

#1 - do bad guys just come up to the front door? i would imagine that this would work better by the rear door or near a garage

#2 - could this potentially bite you in the axx if you are forced to defend yourself in court? does it make the homeowner appear "trigger happy"?

#3 - i wouldn't use one for the same reasons i don't use window decals on my car. i don't want you to break in just to find out that there is nothing for the taking

#4 - i think it's a pretty cool sign :)
+1

I like the signs. Would be fun to have on house.
However, I'm more low profile.
I would love to wear Glock logo clothing too, but I don't.

I can see the da's argument being "Well, if it's not worth dying for, why did you shoot him?"

Answer,
"It's not worth ME dying for but I place a lot lower value on a criminal's life."

As does the criminal. He decided that taking stuff is worth the risk of his being shot.

You have to be a special kind of idiot to be a thief in Texas. Within some limits we can use deadly force to protect or recover property.

Sec. 9.42. DEADLY FORCE TO PROTECT PROPERTY. A person is justified in using deadly force against another to protect land or tangible, movable property: .........................(A) to prevent the other's imminent commission of arson, burglary, robbery, aggravated robbery, theft during the nighttime, or criminal mischief during the nighttime; or
(B) to prevent the other who is fleeing immediately after committing burglary, robbery, aggravated robbery, or theft during the nighttime from escaping with the property...........................

Best sign I saw years ago in Delta Press was a simple metal thing, English on top, Spanish below, and all it said was "If you come through this door you will be killed."
Bad juju to put it on an outside door, though, in todays lawyer infested world.

On the back fence mine says 'Never mind the Dog, beware the owner.' as the dog in question is a brindle Great Dane/Mastiff mix it is cause for thought. His girlfriend and 9 puppies are in the house so whichever way they come in the dogs are still the least of their worries.

I dunno....at the price of those signs, :what:there already seems to be a crime committed.:scrutiny:

Stealth

I prefer stealth as well. No need to advertise so baddies can come prepared. One reason I've never used an NRA sticker but have been a long time member and supporter. I cringe when I see those stickers on cars ading for S&W, Ruger or HK, etc... Now a bad guy has an idea of what he can get his hands on if he's careful...

I dunno; to me it looks like a sign saying, "I have guns so break in while I'm away."

I prefer more of a stealth mode, if you will.

I can see the point. Stealth is always a good thing.

While I probably would not utilize such an item for the home, I am thinking about snagging a "window size" decal for my truck. If nothing else, it would make a great conversation piece! ;) A bit "redneck" perhaps, but from where I come from, we have these in abundance.

BTW- Nothing against "rednecks." They love beer, love trucks, love fighting and most of all, love guns. Whats not to like? ;)

I like the sign. I mean, with all those ADT or Brinks signs reading "Make sure you disable the alarm system before breaking in", the chances of being burglarized don't seem to be all that elevated.
