Me too.
I fully expect that public official "A" will serve as governor for only a short period of time. Then we will have an unknown take over.
For those of you who are not familiar with Illinois politics, public official "A" is about to be indicted by the feds for corruption. Most people believe it is the current governor. The Lt governor is a relative unknown, but is part of the Chicago machine so is undoubtedly just as dirty, although he has tried for many years to claim to be some kind of reformer.
Democratic voters do not care about the character issue, and Republican voters punish the party for lapses thereof. So, I fully expect Public official "A" to be re-elected. On the other hand, one never knows. In my area, there are some races that are a lot closer than they ought to be. It will probably turn on who can get their voters to the polls.
104 people had voted this morning at my polling place by 7:45 am. Three precincts - about 2500 registered voters. One of the election judges for my precinct said he expected about 80 of 800 registered voters to actually vote.
