Well she had you whipped pretty good huh? I must say, I have done the same to my husband though...have him whipped, not crushed his life long hobby dream fortune As for the point of it being a job, that's all his business that I cannot stop. He be Navy and a nice deployment is coming up, I certainly can't stop that!
Anyway, for next time, you gotta figure out what to say to her that "it clicks" and she gets it. If I see my husband doing something incorrectly, on the trucks or house or whatever, I let him know that might not be the way to do it. "You know, doing ____ will weaken the ____ and it'll eventuall sheer off and break and the repair for that is _____. I can fix it for ____, but the cost of the part is ____."
Basically, I've learned that the way he "gets it" is if I say, "It'll cost you"

I Have a girlfriend. She's a great person. She's not the "gun nut" I am, but respects by hobby (sometimes while gritting her teeth). But, and I make this clear: GIRLFRIEND DOES NOT EQUAL WIFE!
I know for the ladies here, I'm going to come off as a hard-a$$ for saying this: Until the day I'm married (in which case I will respectfully submit to the "ball and chain"), NO WOMAN will be the boss of me. I'm going to live my single years out and have a blast doing it, and with all due compromise to maintain a healthy relationship with the "significant other," do as I please (e.g. going out with the guys, shoot and carry my guns, etc.).
I've already had too many girlfriends like the one described by the original poster of this thread. Dude......don't make the same mistake I did and waste too many years of your life around women like that. A true woman will let you do your thing and be your own person, and wait until she makes a husband and father out of you. At that point, you'll probably end up giving up a lot anyways for the sake of your spouse and children.

We do buy what we both want though. Normally the limiting factor is budget. If we're both wanting big ticket items, we alternate. He just bought his mungo video card for the computer, now I'm up to bat Single life and married life have such different dynamics. Finding the balance is critical and it can be bumpy until you do. But when you do things are good

ps - well this GF was pretty close to wife, and she does make about four times $$ as me, and yeah, the rest of it. heheh. oh well. but that was how she could turn screws over my time vs time with her. $$$$$$.
ultimately i couldnt take being more or less "bought off" and am on my own now.
and like i said, she did at least realize recently that she was wrong to be so crazy. i mean if i had left to get the guns that day, -i dont want to think about it.
