One Revolver

My favorite is easily my 3" Model 65. I don't own nearly as many guns as a lot of other members but if I had to get rid of all but one, no question about which one I would keep.

Ruger...

S&W Model 66

J-Frame

Ruger GP100

or SP101...

I only regret getting rid of the GP100 and carry my SP101 3". I'd have to favor my Rugers.

5.5" Ruger Vaquero .45 Colt. I carry semiautos, so practical has nothing to do with it for me. This is the handgun that is my favorite to shoot, and has a huge variety of ammo choices.

A DW 715 Pistol Pack, I can take it totally apart in minutes, and put it back together almost as quickly as I took it apart, with no special tools. I have almost enough parts to build a econd gun already, just need a frame and the ball bearing and spring that hold the back of the cylinder. I think a two tone blue framed, with an SS cylinder and barrel would be different!

A quality double-action .44 Magnum revolver, 6" barrel or less, with stainless finish. I would choose the .44 Magnum due to its great versatility, the stainless finish due to living in the hot, humid, muggy South (sometimes it's that way in mid-Winter!)

The obvious answer for folks that like revolvers is a 357; I think my choice would be a 6" Model 57 Smith (41 mag) if I can only have one and no more.

I already posted by displaying a photo of my Colt King Cobra, but because I changed the grips recently and shot it for the first time with these Hogues, I'll say it again: For me, a 4 inch, stainless King Cobra. There may be better, and I've owned both Ruger GP-100s and a Smith 686, but The KC is my personal preference.

Mercifully, the challenge here is to pick one's one and ony REVOLVER, not one's one and only handgun. Given that limited challenge, I'll take my custom Ruger Bisley 44 Magnum with 4-5/8 barrel. This gun can handle all my steel plate and long range shooting, plinking, hunting. I'd leave the CCW concerns to my Browning Hi Power and other semi-autos.

Where the challenge to pick a revolver that would be my only handgun, my M19-3 2.5-inch would be my pick. I have made a committment to be separated from that gun only when absolutely necessary, and at the end of the day personal protection is my first priority where handguns are concerned.

I'd really like to get S&W's new Model 27 Registered Magnum. I also like the Dan Wessons with multiple barrels.

But, since I already have a revolver, I'd vote for an S&W 610 in 10mm :)

I would choose the revolver I own:

Ruger GP100 4" stainless with Meprolight night sights.

It's legal for hunting (WI) and IDPA, and its a good HD weapon too.

It's easy to take apart and clean also.

Model 629 sporting a 4" barrel.

- Because I shoot well with them

- Accuracy and dependability is very high

- When loaded appropriately and utilized profeciently they will take anything that walks or crawls on our continent.

- Ammo is available in most places

My stainless Ruger Redhawk in 41mag with the barrel shortened to 4". Great balance, caliber will cover all my needs, super fun to shoot, dependable and very accurate. JMHO :p

J frame snubby Is as far as I can get. Not sure which one.
Reason..It feels like enough for my purposes

4" Model 19.

Or the stainless stablemate, the 4" Model 66.

Although, I'm really starting to like my 3" Model 696 in .44 Special...
