One Revolver

S&W 625

This is the only revolver I own or have ever owned; there are a few more I might like (esp. a similar Hogue-gripped .22, only 10 shots instead of 6 :)), but this is the one I wanted, and my favorite so far.

5" barrel (would like to find another in 4"), black rubbery Hogues, really pleasant heft. OK, it's not a .44 Magnum, certainly not a 50AE, but frankly, except for novelty value I'm not personally interested in shooting those guns; .45 from a big steel revolver would be fun all day, and *is* fun for all the ammo I can afford. (If I should go trekking in Alaska, ask me again.)

I'm sure I'd like an SP101 in 9mm, too, if only they'd either make them again or appear in vast quantities (thus cheap) on the used market ;)

(Any manufacturers reading this: more "autoloader" ammo revolvers, please!)

My Ruger New Model Blackhawk 7.5" barrel in .45 Long Colt. I would square off with a Grizzly with my reloading manual approved hot loads.

I have shot squirrels out of tall pines with this pistol. 1 1/4" 25 yard groups with my pet handloads.

Colt Python

when you not shooting it you can always look and admire the greatest american firearm ever made.

I've had many, and many favorites.
Some of these favorites are:
S&W Mod 18 4" .22LR
Ruger Single six .22lr/.22Mag
Colt Cobra .38spec
S&W Mod 19 4" .357
Ruger Super Blackhawk 7.5" .44
I've had at least a 1/2 doz of each caliber, but these are my favorites of the bunch.

My all time favorite is the S&W Mod 19 4" .357. In fact, it could probably work as the one handgun, if that were the question.

I guess it would ave to be my S&W MOD 19-5

It is a dream to shoot and good accuracy.

My Taurus Titanium Ultra lite in .38 Sp. the 85 SS ul. Back when I purchased it, they had a model that had a regular hammer. That weapon has been with me for a long time, and I will never get rid of it.

I also have a model 64 stainless S&W 4". Nice weapon, but I don't like it like the Taurus.

Quit cigs 1M 1D 20h 18m ago. So far saved $197.07, 1,313 cigs not smoked and counting ...

The do-everything gun...

...if there is such a thing.

Another vote for the 686+, though I appreciate the heft the 6-inch version.

I only have the one...Colt, Diamondback, 4". Now if I can choose from the "wide world of everything out there"...I'm sure I could name something different. :D
Mark.

Don't laugh ...

My one gun would be a Ruger Old Army, 5.5" barrel, with a Kirst .45 Colt/Schofield cylinder. Built like a tank and very reliable, with no screwy transfer bar action. Half cock feature for traditionalists. Can still shoot as cap & ball if desired. Suitable for hiking/camping, home protection, and even as a carry gun under a heavy jacket. Don't like the loading lever? Replace it with a Belt Mountain basepin. And you can have one shipped right to your door!

Maybe something S&W model 520 NYSP circa 1980's. A good strong caliber, frame, & no sights to mess with. It looks like it can take a lot of abuse & still function well. It has a certain jen ne sais quoi about it which makes it terribly sexy

S&W 686 3" or 13 3".
Have both and will part with neither.
