I am thinking hard about trading my ATI Titan, with NIBx coating and 4 mags for a Kahr pm40 with 5 mags. Both are in excellent condition. My Titan has had about 300 rounds through it. Kahr apparently has less than 200.

The kahr would fill a carry niche the titan does not. I rarely carry the titan and think I would the kahr. I'm also not recoil shy, and have shot other small polymer 40s and 45s pretty well. My only hesitation is that I know the titan shoots well, and that I shoot it well.

But it doesnt get carried, and with the 3 inch barrel there are better options for home and range.

Talk me into or out of the Kahr, if you have a clear opinion ...

If you are familiar with the titans and comfortable with it I would keep it. On paper the titan looks about the same dimensions as the kahr.

Unless I'm missin something I don't really see an advantage other than weight.

The titan has the same barrel length, but it is about 1.5 in longer, 0.9 in taller, 0.25 in wider, and 19 oz heavier.

The titan's grip prints about the same as my g19 or g30 with 10 round mag, and it is heavier.

But I agree its hard to part with a gun that shoots well.

Had a Kahr CW40 years ago and besides having some build quality problems with it I found that it had just a little too much recoil and muzzle flip for my taste. Sold it and eventually went with a Kahr CM9 instead and have been very pleased with that decision.

I also have a Colt Officer's ACP, and have had no problem carrying it concealed (though I wouldn't mind if it was somewhat lighter), for a number of years. A decent holster and belt makes a world of difference with a concealed carry gun. I shoot the Colt better and would choose it over the Kahr CW40. If I were you I would try out the Kahr PM40 first (if it's possible), and then go from there.

Don't get me wrong. The titan is very carriable. I just have other guns I go with when I can have that amount of printing.

But I think I'm going to decline the trade. The kahr isn't really like new. Its had multiple owners and seen more rounds than I thought.

If it were a Kahr PM9 instead of a PM40, I would say take it. In the interest of disclosure, I have a PM9, which I like. I couldn't imagine the recoil and muzzle flip of that little gun in 40 cal.

Have a kahr pm40 in black finish. It is a little beasty but a fine shooter with a nice trigger and no real problem for a fella that doesn't mind a little recoil. It makes for a great conceal carry. I carry it in a crossbreed aiwb.
