Orders From Dillon?

Collusion to what end? So they can all lose money together?
Dillon is local to us. Last time I walked in a few weeks ago, the shelves looked the same as they did 1+ years ago just as the last primers went out the door. Empty.
I can't think of a worse business to be in right now. Between the pandemic, supply-chain issues, primer/powder shortage, inflation, workforce issues... it's amazing any of them are still around.
I won't pretend to know anything about the inner workings of their business, but they've got to be bleeding money, and through no fault of their own.
Don't know any of them personally, so I have no dog in this fight. But IMO they deserve a little understanding and support here.

+1
Over the past 30 years I would give Dillon credit for setting the benchmark on customer service. I dont mind giving them pass in these crazy times. IMHO they earned it.

I work in the transportation industry and will just say there are a lot of angry, frustrated people out there. Supply chain and logistics issues are real.

I'm the OP, and the powder funnel that I ordered two weeks ago, and then cancelled because their recorded message said I'd be waiting forever, just arrived by 2 day Fedex (as originally requested).
When I cancelled the two orders I had placed, Dillon emailed me that I had a "Credit Memo" from the cancellations. It would have been nice to tell me clearly if my credit card was being refunded the money as I requested, or if I had a credit for future use. The fact that the order arrived suggests that "my cancellations have been cancelled" and I'll get the items whether or not I still want them

I ordered a set of carbide pistol dies for .38 Special / .357 Magnum back in February. Today I received an email from Dillon that they shipped!

Indeed, the Dillon powder funnel and corncob that I ordered in June and were "cancelled" in July, arrived here in August. Waiting for my credit card billings to catch up to see how the billing works out.
Although their supply problems persist (wait time for 9mm dies is shown as 42+ weeks), at least they seem to be able to communicate with customers and ship the items they have.

I don't see Scheels as being any cheaper. I put the 550 in my cart with one cartridge conversion and it's $619 at both Scheels and Dillon's site.

I've been waiting for a 550 or SDB to be in stock for over a year. I gave up and ordered a Lee turret this week.

I ordered a 22tcm powder funnel on Wed Aug 31st and it arrived Tuesday Sept 6th. I ordered by phone because I also needed a clear case drop tube with a larger inner diameter to fit .50ae brass and couldn't find it on the Dillon website. Both came together in the package.

Don't know about ordering new equipment but twice last month (Aug) I reached out to their customer service. 1) had an issue with my (550) primer seating cup and within 4 days of my request I recieved several (free) parts; and 2) later that month I noticed one of my powder measure plastic tubes (about 25 years old) was cracking at the top. Again within 4-5 days I received a new tube (free) and specific instructions on how to install it since the part was (before the two locking screws) glued in.
Again, have no recent experience with ordering 'new' stuff.

I would call to confirm, but the RL550C was showing as being in-stock on the website when I looked earlier today.

The SDB now shows in stock for the .38Spl, which is what I wanted. It wasn't earlier this week. Too late now!

Their prices are a bit high but the quality is usually good, and getting Dillon parts from other sources is difficult.
OTOH, their shipping charges are way too high. IIRC, a 10 lb box of corncob has $17 shipping for one and $32 for two. The powder measure belling funnel piece that I ordered for my 650 would easily fit in a small envelope, but the shipping for that I believe was also $17. If it ever arrives.

A combination of not-so-great prices, outrageous shipping, and awful customer service; is the total opposite of the "Old" Dillon.
Hopefully, that will change soon. But a 30-60 week wait for a small ordinary part is not encouraging.

I just looked on eBay, the same Dillon powder measure part is $34.22 new including tax and shipping, much cheaper than Dillon, and I'll have it in less than a week. The two boxes of Dillon corncob media will cost me $41 instead of $53 through Dillon. I wonder if Dillon will let me cancel my order, or if I'll have to dispute the charge through my credit card?
Thier shipping prices are ridiculous. I live 15 miles away from the factory, and they charged me $10 to ship 5 plastic primer rod tips, probably weighing 3 grams..

Costs almost the same in gas, plus an hour+ round trip.

Not sure about the math, maybe I'm an idiot.

I understand the hour+ drive, I used to have a 30 minute drive to work for 1.6 miles. Usually longer to get home.

I drive a Hummer, it gets 10mpg if I'm lucky. Why does anyone need to validate my math, or question whether $10 to mail something that could be sent in an envelope with a stamp is unreasonable? It is. I like my press, but I'm not a fanboy to anything.

I have found the prices at Dillion direct are about the same as the dealers in my area. No discounts. I did wait 2 months for a set of Dillion carbide .357 dies, but they informed me at order that they were severely backordered on pistol dies. They arrived this weekend, so they are moving through the backlog.

My .45 dies showed up without an email from Dillon. They were ordered 9/23/21. No word on the .40’s at this time. I had called CS just to verify I’m still active in their system and questioned their web page indicating some carbide dies like the .45 are on a 2-4 week ship schedule back in May and they said “don’t believe it”…. I guess patience is a virtue. I wanted the dies, I’m willing to wait and I’m not bashing Dillon except for the wording on their web page with the expected wait times being somewhat inaccurate.

I ordered a small part for one of my 650's last week and got it in just a couple days. So they are shipping stuff and rather expediently.

Shipping is ridiculous. It costs me $10-$12 to ship a holster and the package weight is always under a pound.

A year or so ago, I asked Dillon about their shipping costs. I was told that it was based on item cost. I have since ordered dillon specific items from places like Scheels, Titan or Ben Stoeger. That of course assumes they have what is needed.

I've been able to buy several Dillon items (new) on fleabay. The items have always been the genuine Dillon part, arrived promptly, and shipping was either free or a fraction of what Dillon would charge.
The few parts I've ordered from Scheel's have been Dillon price or less, with cheaper shipping.
When I need a Dillon part, my priority for checking availability is:
1. fleabay
2. Scheels
3. Dillon.
