Has anyone here recently ordered something from Dillon?
If so, did you get it and how long did you wait?

Their website says they are having "network issues" with the phones.
The recordings say that the powder funnel/expander die I just ordered will not ship for 30-60 weeks, that seems excessive.

And I ordered some of their corncob tumbling media two weeks ago, that sort of order usually shows up in a week. So far, not even a "ready to ship" message. Is there a corncob shortage in the US?

I'm getting the impression that most/many companies are operating better than they were 6-12 months ago. Dillon does not seem to be in that group, hoping I'm wrong. Your experience?

I ordered something a couple weeks ago that has stayed in "processing" status. Support told me they had experienced a catastrophic failure that had many of their systems offline, preventing access to order information.

So I think everything is delayed. I'm sure they are doing their best to bring things online.

I find their website overpriced and shipping is high. I ordered some powder funnels a while back and it took 3 weeks to get them (they were in stock). Pathetic IMO

For real Dillon gear, I get whatever I can from Scheels.com

For non Dillon stuff, I stick with Midway or Cabelas mainly.

Their prices are a bit high but the quality is usually good, and getting Dillon parts from other sources is difficult.
OTOH, their shipping charges are way too high. IIRC, a 10 lb box of corncob has $17 shipping for one and $32 for two. The powder measure belling funnel piece that I ordered for my 650 would easily fit in a small envelope, but the shipping for that I believe was also $17. If it ever arrives.

A combination of not-so-great prices, outrageous shipping, and awful customer service; is the total opposite of the "Old" Dillon.
Hopefully, that will change soon. But a 30-60 week wait for a small ordinary part is not encouraging.

I just looked on eBay, the same Dillon powder measure part is $34.22 new including tax and shipping, much cheaper than Dillon, and I'll have it in less than a week. The two boxes of Dillon corncob media will cost me $41 instead of $53 through Dillon. I wonder if Dillon will let me cancel my order, or if I'll have to dispute the charge through my credit card?

A lot of manufactures that have dealer networks price things higher when buying direct from them. They do this to help support and promote their dealers. I've seen prices higher from many manufactures, including Lee, Hornady, RCBS, Redding, and others than when buying the same item from Midsouth, Midway, etc.... I've never ordered from Dillon (and don't have anything Dillon on my bench although I would like to) but I would think they operate the same as everyone else. The real difference when buying direct is you get an expert on the product you want or need.

And granted, 30-60 weeks sounds like a long time (and it is) but we are in a strange new world. The last two years have been nothing less than crazy. I've been lucky with everything I've needed/ordered in the past two years, except a set screw for a die, but I was able to source a suitable replacement locally.

I'm still waiting on dies I ordered last June 15, 2021. I was told weeks ago they were shipping....never happened.

Their "recent" (4 weeks ago?) website update has been a complete failure. I could not log into the new site. Then when their phones went out this week, I became concerned and wondered IF they shutting down and closing their doors.

I finally got through to them last Wednesday, and it appears no one will be able to log in to their old account and must create a new client file. All previous orders will not transfer to their new system. When on the phone, they could not look up my old order...... not good. The DP guy could not answer when I asked if they could not see the old pending orders, how could they fill them?.....

I suspect the complaints with the Better Business Bureau will increase.

I’m also waiting for .40 and .45 dies ordered 09/21. Their back order page for the last 2 months has said 2-4 weeks for the .45, and 26 for the .40. Claim is huge demand and carbide shortages.
I knew the dies were going to be back ordered and I did call them a while ago and found out they‘re having computer problems, but they didn’t tell me they were that extensive. Sounds like they got ransomed and/or didn’t have a valid backup strategy.
I’m being patient because I knew I wanted the item and knew it wasn’t going to ship right away. At some point the patience runs out.

If you don’t mind me asking, what calibers?

To be fair, I do have One carbide pistol die still outstanding from ~4Q2020. But they also told me the 750XL from that order would take 6-12 weeks or some such and it came in under 2.

That all aside, Dillon rules. Right now is unbecoming of their last 50 years. Be patient. Obviously they are working through some significant computer issues. That doesn't change the good people there.

OMG! dissension in the ranks! Turn in you BLUE CARDS!

Why would anyone buy corn cob media from Dillon?????????????

In my case, the initial order was for carbide pistol dies in .44 Spl/Mag and .45 ACP. I ended up buying new Dillon .44 Spl/Mag dies from an individual months ago and canceled the .44 Spl/Mag and received a credit on the account which I will spend once I learn the .45 ACP dies have shipped.

According to the CS person I spoke with on Wednesday, no dies have been shipped in a year. I thought that was odd as I thought they had secured two other companies to manufacture dies. Unfortunately, some of their excuses do not make sense......even to their customer service reps! Different reps are saying different things.....

What's wrong with Dillon corncob, aside from exorbitant shipping and no idea when it will actually arrive?

When I looked on the web for other sellers, Dillon seemed to be the cheapest (before shipping), often a lot cheaper.
If I buy a thousand pounds from another supplier, then the price per pound drops considerably...
:uhoh:

I just called and cancelled my two orders placed in June.
The CS guy didn't give me any static, and said they have the credit card info on file to process the refund. Of course, the way things are going at Dillon right now, I'd prefer that they not have my card info, but not much I can do.

Unfortunately, the situation at Dillon seems to be deteriorating.
At the time of my original post, their website said they were having network issues with the phones.
Today, the website says items are shipping in 2-3 weeks, but the updated phone recording says "currently, we are unable to ship orders or access existing orders." Wow.
I stayed on the phone for a while hoping to speak to someone or leave a message, but the recording just kept repeating over and over.

I'm now looking to buy a case feeder feed tube for my 650, size Small (blue lettering). That's the clear plastic tube from the case feeder down to the machine. My manual shows it as part number 20532 .
Can't fine one on Fleabay, and Scheels doesn't have one. A Google search found two places that claimed to have them, but one place seems to be in England and the other in Czech Republic.
Anyone have a place to buy one in the US? Thanks.

Just my personal opinion, but it's crazy for me to imagine a business unable to access or ship orders for close to a month. I would think almost any problem could be resolved or at least worked-around in that amount of time. I hope they can get things moving again soon!

People are speculating that Dillon had a massive computer disaster. They are not saying if it's a crash or a hack or a ransom hack that they didn't pay.
Either way, I hope they get it straightened out soon, Dillon makes some good products and provides more competition in the reloading machine industry. And I need parts for my Dillon.
I suspect that other big names in the industry are doing their calculations on how much they would be willing to pay for Dillon. Me, I hope Dillon gets going again and stays independent.

Dillon's Instagram implies they have resolved their issues and are operational again. I'm going to call later and confirm that they have resumed shipping. I've been waiting to place another order until they got things moving again.

Update: called and got the recorded loop stating they are having issues. Looks like things are not back to normal yet.

Try the GunStop in the Mpls area. They carry a lot of inventory. I'd call rather than try to find it on their website.

THANKS!
I called Gunstop and they had one in stock, should be shipped tomorrow.
As of 5 minutes ago, Dillon's phone recorder has two message, the same as yesterday. One message says they are having issues and delays, the other says they are unable to ship anything or access orders.

Now before someone jumps down my gullet about My next post ; Please remember I've had Dillon products since the late 80's and even knew Mike personally . So what I'm about to say Hurts Me as well . Don't have a clue as to who is really running Dillon any longer but IMO ,it's gone DOWNHILL . Not product wise but management wise . I won't go into detail but lets just say , I purchase a Butt Load of parts and pieces within the reloading industry on MY own dime ,so as to experiment with various products and make REAL improvements for RELOADERS .

That being said prior to the plandemic ,I had requested a quantity of items from a few manufacturers and they all said ,well we can't fulfill your request at present !. I started suspecting something was really afoul within the entire industry ,when in Sept. 2020 within 2 days I received Email notifications from ALL manufactures ; That MY orders COULDN'T BE FILLED . Some items had been on BACK order for #5-7 months .

Then in Jan. 2021 I again received Emails from ALL the manufactures ,stating they could NOW fulfill MY orders with a 35-62% cost increase !.

You all make of it what you will but it sure seems to ME ,it's COLLUSION on part of manufactures !. How did one know I had ordered from the other and WHY did ALL the Emails come the SAME DAY on the Jan. 2021 notification ?.
