I am looking for feedback on this gun. I have been searching for a single stack thin, slim, light, CCW and was going to go the 1911 route, but I am just not ready to carry Cocked and Locked. I totally understand that it is safe its just not my desire right now. so my search led me to the Para PDA with the LDA trigger and wanted to see how people have liked them. I would like something that I can carry with one in the chamber but a safety.

A couple of info I need clarification on...
1. Does the slide lock back on last round??? I can;t imagine it wouldnt but I read that online.
2. Does it have a safety?
3. Can I carry it cocked and lcoked with the hammer down, so to speak??
4. Is it Reliable?

At that point why not go with a HK ups compact in 9mm long or 45, it has a decocker, safety, you can have it cocked with the safety on and is extremely relaible. I have few different hk series and never had any problems with them. They will run you around 900$.
However I have para in 9mm long and 40 and I do like them just in my "personal" opinion I think HK is a better gun.

HK is awesome but they are not very compact at all and dont seem like they would be comfortable to carry.

I assume this is the gun you're looking at? http://www.para-usa.com/new/product_pistol.php?id=67

1. Does the slide lock back on last round???
Yes, it has a conventional 1911 slide stop.

2. Does it have a safety?
Yes, it has thumb and grip safeties.

3. Can I carry it cocked and lcoked with the hammer down, so to speak??
On the LDA action (a form of DAO) the hammer cannot be cocked manually.

4. Is it Reliable?
I cannot verify as I have no personal experience with their recent pistols.

Yes it does, it's a normal 1911 in almost every respect.

2. Does it have a safety?
Yes, same as above.

3. Can I carry it cocked and locked with the hammer down, so to speak??
In essence yes. The hammer is down at all times until you work the trigger. The manual safety functions to prevent you from working the trigger until it is released.

4. Is it Reliable?
Yes. They are as good as any other 1911, which is to say they make take a bit of work to be 100%. Or your pistol may be 100% out of the box. They do well in competition and I know several agencies that use them as their duty issue weapons.

4. I have the original Para Carry model, same 3" barrel. Never really had much of a problem with it except for some of my own lead reloads after a few hundred rounds through it without cleaning. The gun has seen about 500 rounds without a problem with the FMJ and HP stuff.
