An AR can fulfill all of the requirements of a hunting rifle. I've got four AR's that I hunt with. They are all uniformly accurate (MOA-ish to subMOA with specific loads), well balanced, reliable, and my 308 AR10 and 7.62x39 AR15 are capable of taking just about any game I'm likely to hunt.GungHo, An AR would make a crappy deer rifle because its a combat weapon, its not designed for that stuff.
This is the kind of thing that a 'crappy' AR-15 (chambered in 7.62x39 and shooting handloads) can do - take down a 500lb boar at spitting distance.
That rifle has taken lots of game. Next week, it'll be in the field again. Funny thing is, that 'crappy' AR-15 will likely be the most accurate rifle in the camp.
Well, having a FAST second or third shot can be a real handy thing when a 500lb boar wants to get cozy with your leg.If you cannot hit a deer with 1 or 2 shots you shouldnt be hunting.
How can having that capability be a bad thing?
