The other day at the local Gander Mountain line a fellow thought there were folks jumping the line and he pulled a gun on one of them. I think he is still in jail.

I found half a brick of 22 at the house today and used it up. JACKPOT! Now I'm completely out :(

Nice prices!

Gun show price

At a gun show today in NYS [ south western ] the price of a loose box of 550 rounds was NINETY DOLLARS.

And that was the hardest caliber to find = .22 RF.

Got a bucket o' bullets yesterday at Academy. 1400 rounds for $70. Woot!

Somehow a nickle a piece for .22 rimfire just rubs me wrong. Especially since before the 2008 election I was paying $6.00 for 500 at Academy. Something is severely out of whack.

Ammo does seem to be a topic in East Tennessee. I have seen no significant change in inventory or availability.

If we ever go to war against mutant squirrels, the USA is prepared.
+1

Seriously.

There are VERY FEW things that I am willing to ever wait in line for and 22LR (or any ammo really) is certainly not one of them.

Everyone interviewed came off as reasonable and down-to-earth. It never ceases to amaze such a thing exists with firearm owners!

At one time I bought way more 22lr than I'd I really needed. You could get them anywhere at a good price. I thought, "What was I thinking? I don't need this much. "

Now it wouldn't be even considered a starter stash since there are other folks who keep much larger amounts on hand.

1000 rounds is small change unless you don't have any. I wouldn't have stood in line at Gander Mt for 22 ammo. I am not to that point.

It's a sad day when it comes to standing in line for hours for .22 LR ammo. What's next? Arrows?

Scrounging thru the gunroom for Shotgun shells(16ga.) to go Pheasant hunting this morning I came across 2 unopened bulk pacs and two nearly full bulk pacs I didn't even know I had. Apparently, it used to be .22LR ammo was so cheap and plentiful I just bought a box or two everytime the boys and I went to the range without checking the shelves. Subconsciously I musta knew this was coming....yeah, that's it!

I wouldn't have either if I wasn't doing it for the "entertainment" value. Getting the .22lr was just a bonus. If I'd have wanted I could have picked up an AR for MSRP as well since they had gotten 40 of them and I had ticket #26.

BTW, I picked up 3 battle packs of Hirtenberger 5.56 today at the show for 54¢ a round today. :D

Glad to hear AR's are still coming in.

Here, .22lr are so expensive, shooting my 9mm with CCI Lawmen are cheaper :-/

(*) I can only use mini-mags or other 40gr high velcoity with good luck in .22lr.

I am going to go ahead and spit it out. Anyone that pays 90.00 for 550 count of 22lr is an idiot and deserves the raping he got. I sold 1/4 million rounds a brick one to ten at a time for 39.00 each. Didn't feel bad letting people who were willing pay that have it. It allowed me to hook some friends up for free and for cost. I am already buying back as local stores are getting it in for 18.00 per brick. Its two brick per day limit but getting 4 to 6 a week. So if that price holds I put my disposable inventory back and have doubled my money. Bet I could still sell it for double because some folks are not smart enough to find without help.
