Hi there, I was wondering if any of you knew any advantages of 1/2" vs 3/8" pillars for bedding a stock. Also should you use a 3rd pillar with a remington adl for the middle screw? Thank you.

In my opinion, the 3/8" pillars don't offer much support since the bolt holes are 1/4"+ diameter. Don't need to put one on the center bolt since it is not supposed to be tight. Some builders even add a little piece of wood to the stock and use a wood screw to secure the front of the trigger guard.

I'd use the 1/2" pillars because the bolts are 1/4" and that only leaves <1/16" on each side if you use a 3/8 pillar.

The middle screw just holds on the trigger guard. Tighten it just enough so it won't come loose and don't bother trying to pillar it.
