I hit the range since I was off work due to weather and what did I see on the shelf???
8 pound jug of alliant bullseye!!!! $139.99

I bought it and a pound of power pistol.

They also had a 8 pound jug of BE-86 for $139.99

First time I have seen 8 pound jug of any pistol powder.

Anyone use be-86? Should I go back and get it:) lol

That a great price.

Never used BE-86. I got 4 lbs a couple of weeks ago, but haven't tried it. I probably would have bought that 8lb jug.

There's an ongoing thread around here somewhere with several of us THRians commenting on loads and results. And yes, you should go back and get it.

I would run back and buy it. I am in Rocket City this week and the only powder I saw was 8 pd HS-6 for $276.00 and 8 pd of WSF for $217.00. A little too pricey for me.

I have started seeing Alliant pistol powders in the last couple weeks. Got some PowerPistol back in my personal inventory. Now if I could just find some WST....

It depends, whats your panic aversion plan? Personally, I wouldn't buy an 8 pounder of a new powder without burning up a pound and finding where it shines in your loading regiment. My new standard is 2 years worth of shootin ammo loaded and enough powder and primers to load it again. basically 4 years uninhibited range fun. Probably could stretch that out to 7-10 years if I shot as much as a normal person  . I was on a 2 year plan(1 year ammo, 1 year components) but this shortage forced me to try a few new powders.

I've been sitting fat and happy on powder since new years, but I did impulse buy a case(10lb) each of Bullseye and unique when PV had them in last month. I set 5 cans of bullseye on the shelf and traded the rest off 1lb/1k primers. I got name brand primers for $20/k and 5 local reloaders got what they needed to shoot another year.

That price is almost as good as before the shortages hit. Good for you...

I saw an 8lb jug of Varget at Cabela's last weekend but I decided not to buy it considering it was priced @$219.99. I just can't do it!

You guys don't have any gun shows in your area? The last gun show I went to was last weekened in Novi Mi. The powders I saw for sale in 1 pound containers were Bullseye, Unique, 2400, power pistol, w231, w296, wsf, herco, 800x, 700x, hs6, longshot, varget, imr 3031 4064 reloader 7 15 17 22, and I know I'm leaving a lot out. The Alliant powders were all $25 and the Hogddon powders were about the same. The point is check out your local gun shows and you may be surprised what you find.

Wow I bought a pound of HP 38 for $19.99 at my lgs a couple months ago. I noticed the smaller shows either don't have what you want or charge a fortune for stuff.

Alliant powder rep on one forum or another commented that BE-86 is basically BullsEye w/ added flash suppressant. So yes, I'd say go get it, if you really need that much powder on hand now that we're starting to get imports from OZ again...
I certainly could be wrong, but I believe it's supposed to be more like Power Pistol with a flash suppressant. But I've never used it.

Good score... I picked up 8 lb jugs of HP-38 from Wideners a few weeks ago. Now if they would just ship it!

$134.40 plus shipping and hazmat fee. With the other stuff I bought I was out the door at $140 a jug! :D

I am set for a while!

I joined a gun club about two weeks ago and scored an 8# jug of Titegroup for $130 out the door. They tell me they carry stuff with just minimal markup for their members only.

I was quite happy :)

Nice score. I saw on a reloading Facebook page where one of my favorite pawn shops are starting to carry powder. I went in today and saw a bunch of aliante powders. I picked up 2 lbs of w231 for $47. Plus with the 2 lbs of titegroup I got last week for the same price I think I'm starting to build a lil inventory for a new loader.

If I saw the BE-86 8 lb jug, I probably wouldn't buy it, only because I already have several pounds. :D but if I were in the market for more powder, I would have jumped on it at that price.

It is supposed to be a lot like Power Pistol with a flash suppressant. PP is one of my favorite powders, but I personally think BE-86 is better in 45acp.

Now that is the kind of club that i'd be interested in finding.
