I have considered pocket carry for some of my carry time. But this is leading to a few questions. Could you guys help me out?

- What do you carry in your pockets (besides your pistol)?
This has been the biggest issue for me. My left front has my phone, right front has keys (change and anything else), and then my wallet is in my back right. I don't want to put my keys in with my phone and scratch it up. But I don't see it being a good idea to put keys in with a pistol.
So, what do you carry besides your pistol? Did you have to change habits to be able to pocket carry?

- What pistols do you carry?
I wear jeans pretty much all the time so I don't have any large cargo pockets to put a larger size pistol in. What are good pocket pistols? Can you carry anything larger than a 380?

Nothing should be in the same pocket as your gun+holster.

I carry my phone in a holster on my belt and my keys normally either go in a jacket pocket or are clipped to my belt, so I've got more free pocket real estate than you do.

I carry either a Sig P238 or a S&W 442 in my pocket when I pocket carry. The size and caliber of the gun you can comfortably pocket carry totally depend on you and you'll have to experiment to see what works, everybody and their pockets are different.

I pocket carry (or will when I get my CCW) and one must adapt his dress and habits to accomplish this. I carry on private property in this manner and never carry without a holster. There is nothing in the pocket except the gun and that would be right side/strong side pant pocket carry or strong side coat/jacket pocket carry.

This is a great way to carry a small auto or revolver and you can have your hand on the gun without revealing it if situational awareness dictates a possible or imminent threat. I carry Ruger LCR, Colt 1903 Model M's and Beretta .22 autos. I can get a Glock 26 or Beretta Px4 SC in a coat pocket and a pants pocket as well but have not purchased a suitable holster for them yet.

But it's coming... :)

Keys on a belt hook/clip?

That would free up a pocket. And from what I've been seeing they are becoming more common (at least around here), so it wouldn't look too out of place.

I pocket carry a 380 or 9mm in a nylon pocket holster in my right front pocket. I put my cell phone in my left front pocket or jacket pocket. My wallet is in my left rear pocket and I put my keys in my right rear pocket.

This works for me because I don't have a wad of keys. My key chain has a truck key and a house key. Everything else is in my truck on assorted key rings. You CAN carry your cell phone in your rear pocket as well.

I pretty much always wear jeans and I have an assortment of 380s that I mix in. Right now I have a Bodyguard in my pocket. I also occasionally carry and LCP and fairly often a P3aT. I do have a KT PF9 that I carry as well as a DB9. The KT is a tiny bit too large for some of my jeans but the DB works about as well as the 380s. Of course I am completely confident in the reliability of all of these pocket rockets or I wouldn't carry them.

90% of the time I'm in jeans with a .380 mouse gun holstered in the RF pocket. LF gets most of the rest, keys, phone, pepper spray, spare mag. This renders the spare mag more difficult to retrieve so it's not ideal.

Open carry has recently become legal for me so part of the remaining 10% of my carry time is now a full size pistol, when I'm wearing a long coat. It's still concealed but I no longer have to worry about getting busted when I open my coat.

The other X% of the time I carry all the same "90%" stuff in a compartmentalized fanny pack at the 4 or 5 o'clock position.

After about 6 years of carrying with my keys etc. in the same pocket as my naked phone, the phone doesn't show any wear, so it may not be a problem for you either. The holstered P3AT is a little smaller than I would like and is a little bit of a sloppy fit in all of my jeans pockets. I'd prefer that the holster take up a little more space or maybe had a velcro fastener to keep it located.

I have pocket carried for 26years but more so as I have retired iwb. For pocket carry nothing but your handgun AND holster go in it. Simple. Depending on your pocket size and tightness of your pants a 380 , 9mm or 38 can be pocket carried. Only YOU can decide what works well enough. I pocketed a 38sp snubby for 20 years , then a pf9 and now a cm9 and have never had a problem. You will not you carry but most that look would think it was a wallet.

But remember if you think pocket carry is still a problem buy a desantis sof tuck or pocket tuck and try iwb and see that you can carry small pistol about anywhere on your front side and with this low cost holster have enough adjustment to fix out what works best for you.

I carry a J-fame holstered in my weak hand front pocket, speed strip, dumb phone and some times keys (not most of the time) in strong side front pocket, keys clipped to belt loop. Wallet weak side rear pocket.

Keys in the left front pocket, gun in the right front pocket, phone in a coat pocket on on the belt, wallet in the rear.

I carry either my Polish P-64 CZAK or my Česká zbrojovka vz.70 (whichever one in a Robert Mika pocket holster) only in my right-front pocket. Keys, cell-phone, lighter, etc. go in the left-front pocket.

Just got to make it work, if you want to pocket carry. When I pocket-carry, which isn't alot, my S&W 442 in its holster is in my front pocket and nothing else is with it.

So the keys find their way into another pocket. I also have a belt loop clip I usually have on, and will use it too.

If you are heck-bent on pocket-carry, you can make it work. All good examples and tips above.

Keys clipped to a belt loop, phone in a belt carrier on my left side. Change, Leatherman Juice S2, and some EDC stuff on a cable key chain in left front pocket. Kahr 380 holstered in right front, wallet left rear, bandanna right rear.

I am carrying my Ruger LCR right now. I keep it in my right front pocket. I buy pants with a "Tech Pocket" for my cell phone and keep my wallet and keys in my left.

I am not comfortable with anything else in the pocket with my gun.

I carry my gun in my right pocket everything else goes in my left pocket. Phone in a holster on my belt. Rotate carry guns, but use a DeSantis Nemisis holster for each gun. Guns I rotate: Kahr P380, Kahr PM9, Kimber Solo, Beretta Nano. I prefer the Nano, but the one I choose to carry depends upon clothing. I intend to pick up a Beretta Pico once they are released.

I know exactly where you're coming from, had this exact problem when I started pocket carrying. I only pocket carry in the summer and luckily the only shorts I own are Dickies 15" work shorts. They have a 5th pocket on the right leg, halfway down.

Gun(442 w/ Uncle Mike's holster) in front left, phone in the front right, wallet in back left and I either throw my keys in the 5th pocket or my back right pocket. I have at most 4 keys on any of my 2 key rings, so the back pocket isn't an issue. Also, at most of my friends/familys houses, Ill take my gun out and set my keys on top of them. Btw, there's free tip on how to never forget anything, set you keys on them ;-)

I can pocket carry my LCP if I'm wearing khakis shorts/pants, or cargo style pants. (something with large front pockets. I find side cargo pockets flop around too much with anything heavier than the wallet.) Most anything else if too heavy and bulky for comfort once it's in a pocket holster. Whatever I carry cannot flop around or out weigh the stuff I carry on my other side (phone in a holster left side/keys clipped to a belt loop or the top of my pocket/wallet front left)

LCR in right front pocket. Speedstrip in watch pocket. Everything else in left front pocket or on my belt.

I wear cargo shorts 51/52 weeks per year so gunu in left front pocket (I'm LH), wallet in left cargo pocket, keys in right front pocket, phone in right cargo pocket or on a belt holster

Lifted from another thread here:

Man carrying a pistol, with no holster, in his pocket with a bunch of other junk. Reaches into his jacket pocket to pull out his wallet and his gun falls and discharges when it hits the ground (no drop safety).

The shine is off the apple for me with the P-32

I finally got to hold one, look down the sights and try the trigger on a Kel-Tec P-32

I really couldn't see the sights and I wasn't able to hold a steady sight picture pulling that trigger. I didn't like the trigger and the gun jerked to the right a little bit when the trigger broke.

I suppose I could get better with practice but I was disappointed with the little P-32.

I currently "transport" the Rohrbaugh R9 in a 5.11 Select Pistol Pouch.

After I get my CCL, it will go in my front right pocket in a DeSantis Nemesis pocket holster. There won't be anything else in that pocket.

I practice drawing from my pocket and I even spend time practicing getting it out of the 5.11 pouch and loading it.

Funny how in that video the one other guy who saw it says nothing while the employees are all running around like "what the heck just happened out here, we heard something?"

LCP right front pocket in Galco holster, nothing else in pocket.
